When is suicide correct?
This one is hard, are you up for it?

I've never been in so much intractable pain that life was not worth living.
I have been in such severe emotional pain I've put a gun in my mouth.
My point is that suicide is often committed when things seem much worse than they are. However, maybe some time things will be so bad that there might be a rational decision to kill one's self. Generally the opposite is true: things aren't that bad and the decision isn't rational.

Live and let live.
I'm an advocate of active eugenics.
But any one of my friends can call on any of my limited services, should they feel the need. I can be trusted, I think.... As far as you know!

I still think that thing that happened to Mr. Sanders was not god. Although, this is how he inturpreted it, which is fine. He believed it was a God talking to him, but as it was spelled out in the story... It was a autograph seeking cop. Another self important american looking out for his own. Maybe for bragging rights back at the station. I don't know. I don't care
Thanks for the pretty story.

Suicide rips through the family and friends, leaving a vacuum of regrets, betrayal and despair.
Death can be unpleasant, but it seems to bother us more that a friend would decide to end their life decades before their time.
I agree, let's all live it up. Who can know the time?

I don't believe we're discussing Kamakaze pilots or suicide bombers, but ourselves, in despair.

Life is not a bed of roses every day. We have been led to believe it should be, and if your not happy every moment, something is wrong. Take a pill.
Learning to embrace all of life, even the bad parts, has been key for me.
We do not know what is beyond the death of our physical body.
Who's to say suicide will end the pain?

Damn,
I thought this thread was new route beta for Idyllwild. (my summer playground)
Suicide is a bummer, I've lost a few friends and loved ones to it. There are no answers.
One thing I do know and I've stated it here before.
The only person you can prevent from taking thier life is yourself.
I'm a devoted dad so odds are I won't choose that route.
It's a shame when people lose hope.
Personally, I try to always remember that everything is temporary. Fun, laughter, goodtimes AND BAD.

Wake up
Grab a brush and put a little (makeup)
Grab a brush and put a little
Hide the scars to fade away the (shakeup)
Hide the scars to fade away the
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable
You wanted to
Grab a brush and put a little makeup
You wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
You wanted to
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
You wanted to
I don’t think you trust
In, my, self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die, die
Wake up
Grab a brush and put a little (makeup)
Grab a brush and put a little
Hide the scars to fade away the (shakeup)
Hide the scars to fade away the
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable
You wanted to
Grab a brush and put a little makeup
You wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
You wanted to
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
You wanted to
I don’t think you trust
In, my, self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die
In, my, self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die
Father, father, father, father
Father into your hands, I commend my spirit
Father into your hands
Why have you forsaken me
In your eyes forsaken me
In your thoughts forsaken me
In your heart forsaken, me oh
Trust in my self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die
In my self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die
the chorus is powerful, though I don't pretend to understand the full meaning of the song.

you changed the first line.
Hardly a week goes by that someone doesn't tell us they were on
the verge of suicide and MountainWings changed their minds.

I have been greatly saddened by the recent suicides of some of my friends. I am surprized by the number of people I know that have passed. I always thought I would die early in life yet, I'm still here. I do understand why peple would want to kill themselves yet, I am very upset that I wasn't there for them. When your time is up, its up, yet it is very difficult to know when that time is.
When a baby first opens it's eyes
with its first breath it cries
somehow it must realize
it was only born to die

Suicide is an indictment of the failure of friends and family to nurture an individual in agony.

Look I know you are supposed to label climbing threads [OT], but when the title just says Suicide, on ST, you should be able to believe that it is going to be about climbing, not losers.

Wow. You're an insensitive prick. No wonder your son is such a social reject. I can only imagine that you are the same.
Tell me, TradIsGood, will you be so quick to judge if/when your boy commits suicide?

it's no shock to me that one would do such a thing.
you had no choice as to when, how, or why this thing called life started for each of us, but you can decide how it ends.
how about the buddhist monk who lit himself on fire in the 60's as a symbol of protest. suicide, yes?

I have yet to understand the whole suicide thing. I do not know what brings people to this point but I do feel their pain. I lost my wife to ALS which is a really nasty way to go. but, It is the strength that she had the keeps me going to this day. Suicide is a cheap way out. You want cheap then shop at WAL - MART. I have been through some highs and lows over the past 6 months but never would consider suicide. People who have considered this have no faith in themselves or those around them.

Can one kill themself not out of depression, but for another reason? Frustration? I have come to think there may some times be more behind one's reasons than just unhappiness, sadness, anxiety or depression.
