Cruising through and enjoying the great photos in this thread and something occurred to me that I keep noticing all throughout ST posts: Is it just me, but whenever I see an image of a climber and a beer, it seems that Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the beer in hand more often than not?

Took a quck trip to the fridge and the cupboard and sure enough.... :-)

What is going on here? Some kind of harmonic convergence??

As I was cleaning out some of my folders I came across this photo of the "Fish Tank" at the PBC in 200.whatever. Note the careful attention to detail in the layout of the bar:
2 tip jars, well labeled
1 Cooler full of ice
1 bright light shining in customer's eyes if broad daylight
Clearly labaled menu of drinks
Babe behind the counter, assisting the proprietor
What the hell are PNUT TIES? Whatever it is, they must be good at $4 each.
1 five gallon bucket loaded with pink toxic goo, ready to be sold to unsuspecting young boulderers. Whatever that sh*t was, Fish, it was mighty tasty!

I smelled them brewing this morning...The S.N. Brewery is also a great venue for live music. The owner spared no expense on
the acoustics. And not a bad seat in the house.

Still trying to find any pix of me. The past week has been gorgeous here in Ireland and the Met says the same for next week. I'd like to say that I have gotten down to Dalkey Quarry every day for the past nine days, but not quite.

On Wednesday I broke down and finally bought a pair of Red Chili Spirits Impact for €67.50 (about $90) as my final pair of Fires are beginning to tire and I'd left them at home and didn't want to make the side trip from the office to the home to the quarry. I'm not that impressed with them as I have been using them in Dalkey (very good granite there but the Red Chilis don't seem to smear all that well). They are suppose to be sticky rubber but I think my Fires smear better (and edge better).

Do these things need to be broken in before they are good for face, slab and smearing? Any suggestions on good shoes for the Meadows and Valley?

I was going to ask that on a new thread but I figure to keep this one going.

Hi Mal, nice photo of the Fish Tank. In reply to some of your comments/questions.....

"2 tip jars, well labeled" - YUP, MUSSY NEEDED A HAIRCUT

"1 Cooler full of ice" - 70 GALLON ICECHEST WITH BACKUPS

"1 bright light shining in customer's eyes if broad daylight" -RUNS ON OWN INVERTER (CAN'T TRUST JIM WAUGH WITH GENERATORS)

"Clearly labeled menu of drinks" - NEVER CLEAR ENOUGH, WE STILL GOT ASKED....WHAT DO YA GOT?

"Babe behind the counter, assisting the proprietor" - GOOD TIME TAMMI THE HEDONIST

"What the hell are PNUT TIES? Whatever it is, they must be good at $4 each." - PEANUTTZLES - SENDING MY DAUGTER TO CAMP CAMPGAIN

"1 five gallon bucket loaded with pink toxic goo, ready to be sold to unsuspecting young boulderers. Whatever that sh*t was, Fish, it was mighty tasty!" - JIM JONES PUNCH WHICH PEOPLE INSISTED WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH. (DRUNKEN FOOLS)

Glad it was the PBC that was put to rest first. Another year and somebody was going to die.

Yo Dknow!

Dude...that van of yours is quite possibly the baddest thing on four wheels I have EVER Laid Eyes on...I remember when you got that beast, I was like...

"Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude...that thing is soooooooooo BAD ASS!!!!!"

or something like that. I would imagine it has a garden house for a gas line though.

Thing rocks.
