On our way down the coast we stopped in Port Angeles. Thought about maybe upgrading our water taxi at some point and we checked out these options:

Possibly a motor boat? Approx $28M, helicopter optional.

or perhaps a mega sailing yacht, Tamsen at 178 feet, Perinii Navi design.

More info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZp7ebl1wjI

Then we realized we had to bag it since we are paying for our own camping at Facelift. Oh well.

Backstory: Tamsen is designed by the same person who did Maltese Falcon. She pulled into Port Angeles just after we left the Custom's Dock/Fuel Dock as we tied up opposite her. She was there to get fuel, 10,000 gallons. I was a little insulted, the Customs' Agent didn't even come out to talk to us, Mike walked into the little office for check in. When Tamsen arrived at least 20 Customs' Agents swarmed her! Her masts are so huge they have red navigation lights on at night while at dock...for air traffic!

Evviva is a mega motor yacht that we saw frequently as we came down the Inside Passage. Her cruising speed is approximately 10 knots. Ours, 4 to 5 knots. I am assuming that there were several chartering parties that had chartered Evviva during the time we made the one way trip. When we would see her at Marinas or underway she carried a very nice helicopter on top.

Oh, the good life. But at least we have camping reservations at Yosemite!

Never give a paint job to an illiterate.

Then again, as long as the lights and siren works,
it probably doesn't matter.
