I love Don Tilly, but he nor anyone took over after Ax.
Ax was no mechanic he was an innovator & developer. We all stand taller because of him. There are no engine builders of any type that he did not help. He developed airflow for everyone twins, V8 nascar engines & drag engines.

Not in the same league.
Every type of engine was improved because of Ax on every level.
By the way 150 mph would have be nice for a stock bike in 1970.
600cc bikes do that now days.
In moto gp two years ago 800cc normal aspirated bikes where producing 240 bhp.
No reason for more than 3/4 of a liter on the street.
If you can't get 175 out of 3/4 liter you aren't trying.

At the American Geophysical Union (AGU) meetings in San Francisco this week, a science-immersion experience. More than 20,000 geoscientists all in one place, excited to show and talk about what they've found. I started to write a paragraph summing up first-day impressions, but John Mashey said something better.
Anyone interested at all in this topic should try to attend AGU at least once. San Francisco is a nice place to visit and AGU takes over Moscone for a conference that can be overpowering, but offers a massive smorgasboard of stimulation.
Every day, they fill the main hall in Moscone South with thousands of posters, 2 rounds/day. Although it doesn’t make headlines, one of the most fun things to do is to walk the posters and talk to people. Posters are often staffed by grad students or post-docs eager to explain what they’ve been doing to anyone who listens … and I always find their enthusiasm inspiring.
Doing this might be an instructive experience for those that think people do this only for the money train of lavish research grants that provide cushy lifestyles. :-)

Don't EVEN tell me this aint no expanding Industry!
Indeed it is. And a good thing too.
You say we are brainwashed because we listen to a collective of international scientists who tell us things that you don't want to hear.
You say it's a big conspiracy.
Meanwhile, you tout the party line that FAUX New outlets feed you, because it sounds good to you.
You say "Hey, the death of the planet is inevitable. Sit back and enjoy the ride."
Perhaps I can put this in terms you can understand, The Chief:
You ride motorcycles, love 'em. You straddle that thing and pump up the throttle. Free as a bird, go as you will, ain't nobody gonna stop you.
Everything is fine, you're out on a back-country road, no cops, no regulations. You find an open stretch, and gun it up. 55, 70, 95, 110.
You're flying along at a rate that can kill you, pretty darn fast too. You come up to a bend in the road, but if you continue at your speed, you're gonna flip that bird faster than you can fart.
What do you do? Do you gun it and take it like a man, adapt to the changes? You're gonna die anyway, why worry about it now?
Or do you put on the breaks so you can take the turn??
My bet is your pussy ass is gonna apply the breaks, because you want to live to see another day. You know, extend your life.
The bike is a man-made object. You can throttle it up and go fast real fast. And if you drive it recklessly, you're gonna kill yourself using it. But, by monitoring how you use it and applying the breaks at the right time, it will get you to your favorite crag and can climb another day.

Chief, here's a suggestion. You can't do much about your lack of brain power (neither can scooch, for that matter), nor can you do much about your dwarfism. But you can do something about your moobs. Why don't you work on that instead of arguing with the big boys about science?

Interesting, the 20 century trend starts 2001 and ends 2008.

Admit it chief: you just like to remove your shirt, slide the trampoline next to the mirror, and watch your sweet short self jiggle.
Boing!
Boing!
Boing!

All day long.
Not that there's anything wrong with that...

"However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event".
"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said."

From sciencedaily.
The oldest ever recovered DNA samples have been collected from under more than a mile of Greenland ice, and their analysis suggests the island was much warmer during the last Ice Age than previously thought.
The DNA is proof that sometime between 450,000 and 800,000 years ago, much of Greenland was especially green and covered in a boreal forest that was home to alder, spruce and pine trees, as well as insects such as butterflies and beetles.

Everyone knows the 20th Century began January 1, 1901.
In the same way as a baby is one year old when born?

I know that I made a mistake in regard to 20 and 21. I also first misread and thought that the trend where for the 20 decade (or what it is called).
Still kind of stupid to 2013 show a plot with some data and a 21 first century trend that stops in 2008 and start 2001.
