According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, Clinton leads Donald Trump by a staggering 14 points:

The June 20-24 poll showed that 46.6 percent of likely American voters supported Clinton while 33.3 percent supported Trump.

When in doubt, turn to G*D, Glenn Beck and/or Teddy Cruz.

Enough "to piss off the Pope"?

TV host Glenn Beck attacked Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Thursday, saying “too many people are looking at Trump and believing that man has ever opened a Bible … that’s the biggest crock of bullcrap I’ve ever heard.”
Beck, founder of TheBlaze.com, spoke at a rally in South Carolina for Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

“I’m going to be very blunt with you tonight,” Beck said. “Donald Trump is very dangerous in my opinion.”

"Are you with the JohnE Republicans: hold your nose and vote for Hillary (aka the smart Republicans)"

Not really sure why he would have to hold his nose. The Clintons push a different shade of market fundamentalism for sure, but they probably have more in common with JE than anyone else in the political spectrum (apart from the tiny slice of the republican party true belieivers that actually still buy into that stuff...neoliberalism that is)

I think the last year has pretty much confirmed that the political spectrum in the US divides quite naturally into three distinct slices.

Simple, Obama and Hillary were wrong, Trump was right. Again.

Anybody who denies that there are a lot of angry populists/nativists in the democratic world that are being flamed by demagogues, is naïve or clueless.

That doesn't mean that lashing out in anger is a good way to steer one's country.

"Portentous and meaningful stat: 66% people who left school at 16 voted for Leave. 71% of those with university degrees voted to Remain."

Those figures about educational levels mirror those of Trump's supporters and detractors. Uneducated and uninformed people love Trump; educated and informed people hate him.

The media are reporting that a number of Leave voters in the UK are regretting their decision. "What is the EU?" was the number one Google search in the UK the day after the vote to leave the EU.

It seems like UK's uneducated, disenfrachised middle class was manipulated by false campaign promises into voting to the leave the EU, without being properly informed.

For example, a major campaign point coming from the secessionists was saving £350 million ($500 million) per week that would no longer go to the EU, but would go to the NHS, the UK's National Health Services. Nigel Farage, a leader of the Leave the EU movement, admitted just hours after the vote that the NHS promise was a false, misleading statement.

When it was pointed out that Vote Leave emblazoned the £350 million claim onto the side of a tour bus and drove it around the country, Mr Farage said: “It wasn’t one of my adverts – I can assure you! I think they made a mistake in doing that.

That sounds like the Trump nightmare that most people believe can't happen here.

Voter turnout in the UK was higher than normal, with people voting who hadn't been to the polls in decades. Presumably, those extra voters tipped the balance in favor of leaving the EU.

Make sure you vote in November to send the Cheeto Jesus back to his Hart Island fantasy wonderland.

^^^^^^^^^ Trump's acting stupid and contagious.

Apparently, Trump's bigoted nationalism caught fire in the UK, and was instrumental in the disastrous vote to leave the EU. Many of Trump's yelling points, like excluding immigrants, kicking out foreigners and profiling and harassing Muslims, were used by the Leave the EU campaigners.

Many economists have predicted that a Trump victory in November would roil financial markets worldwide.

The UK's vote to leave the EU has roiled financial markets worldwide.

The UK's vote to leave the EU can be considered to be Trump Lite.

I know money impresses christians, like Christ was impressed with the money lenders. What annual % rate was the Christ gold card going for, anyways? Can I put it down for a room aboard the ark on the moon?

Those silly Britons are saying they now #Regrexit their Brexit votes. They are calling for ex post facto changes to the election rules, and for another chance to vote against EU secession.

There is an online petition (2 million signatures, so far) that seeks to retroactively require that a successful Brexit vote be 60%, and not just a simple majority.

The petition demands that Parliament put the issue to a second vote.

And if the second vote also calls for leaving the EU, then the next online petition will be:

How about we decide this with a 'Best out of Five' election series?

http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/25/politics/uk-referendum-regrexit/index.html

It's important that people get their vote right the first time.

If idiots who are mesmerized by Trump's aging jet liner vote him into office, there will be no online petition, requesting changes to an election that has already occurred.

The Senate could immediately impeach Trump, and the House convict him and evict him from office. But that could take some time, and Trump could create a tremendous amount of damage and chaos in even a short amount of time.

Don't goof up your vote in November.

Don't be like the British #Regrexit idiots.

Hi Blue

No, "liberals", as you should also be proud to be called if you got serious and looked at the issues we support, are not at all "anti Christian".

By far most people who identify as Democrats are decidedly Christian.

Perhaps you got that idea from Fructose who is one person out of many tens of millions .

Hillary Clinton doesn't espouse a level of faith she doesn't practice, so far as I have seen. If she suddenly started beginning sentences with "Jesus told me," or referring to homosexual people or women who have had an abortion as "sinners," Then - yeah, she would lose street cred in that area.

Phony religiousness designed to hook the devout is despicable. It's pretty obvious when done - as in when DT tries it.

And it surprises me, too that you would think, Blublockr that those who might identify as liberal would be anti-christian as a whole. Religion is a personal thing. When I think of a Christian(I am actually one - haven't renounced my faith, by the way), I remember a hymn we sang in grade school:

We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love

We will work with each other
We will work side by side
We will work with each other
We will work side by side

And we'll guard each man's dignity and save each man's pride
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yeah, they'll know we are Christians by our love,

It says nothing of judging others, condemning others, or trying to convince others their way is wrong. I think that when people who call themselves Christians, espouse that kind of negative speech, people ARE put off. But I think it's kind of like the "love the sinner, hate the sin." It's not the people, themselves, that put others off, but the yucky behavior.

Trump, and the people who have dealt with him, all agree that he is a master of reading people, and then adapting to become who they want him to be.

This is how callous salesmen, sociopathic predators and con men operate.

Instead of honestly being themselves, they carefully observe and interpret their prey's desires, and then they pretend to be the person who will fulfill those desires.

This past week, Trump met with "hundreds of Evangelical pastors" and one of these guys is now claiming that:

"Trump has forged and accepted a relationship with Jesus Christ."

More accurately, Trump has forged and is exploiting a relationship with far-right Christians who previously supported Ted Cruz and his fanatical call for a Bible-based Christian caliphate.

If he thought it would help him obtain more of the female vote, Trump would go on a Ru Paul television program dressed up as a drag queen, looking like a Cheeto-faced Margaret Thatcher.

Just heard George Will quit the Republican party because he wants to disassociate with Trump.
Will's a smart and thoughtful guy. Somewhat surprising. Wonder if others in the party will do the same?
