zb, what a line up. I know which ones I wouldn't have missed. I have a music documentary DVD that uses a lot of Berkley Music Festival footage ; but I am not sure what year festival it was.
Gary Davis, James Cotton, Jimmy Tarlton & Ritchie Havens. Tarlton was homeboy.
An early success in country music along with his partner, Tom Darby. They recorded several 78's on the Columbia label, beginning in the 20's. A lot of their songs are still being recorded today. Darby was a homeboy and Tarlton adopted my area as his hometown. They split up over some riff and both went solo as billed on picture.
Big influence in the Skiffle style.
Darby used to run liquor across the Chattahoochee River from Al to Ga as a source of income.

I think 1967 was the last year for the Berkeley Festival. Lotsa folks who performed for almost nothing were getting contracts, some others just kept on keeeping on, and I spose a few became lawyers.
