Take it easy, Amigo,
this little drizzle ought to help you slizzle...
In the Dragon Pit
With sleep it comes near me
Swimming up to my eyes
Stealthily wandering
Before I know what's happening
Racking up a small death
Before the dragon
I realize how insignificant
I am before I die
It's always watching me
Lazily winding outside my mind
Before I even know
The Dragon swims before my eyes
And takes me down below
It's so unkind
I've been down here before
Sleeping in the dragon pit
Waiting to die
If I'm not dead already now
I'm waiting to die
When it's all over
The dragon comes at night
It's such a dreadful thing
Will the carriage stop here
And would you even know?
Call the coachman
His skeleton boney hands
Wrapped around the reins
The driver knows where to go
Down to the dragon's lair
Below the bridge of despair
With those ropy hands waving
To the hosts that reside there
With sleep it comes near me
Swimming up to my eyes
Stealthily wandering
Before I know what's happening
Racking up a small death
Before the dragon
I realize how insignificant
I am before I die

Is that a mashie, Mr. Driver?
BIOTCH, in the swing of things.
I worked hard to get this one right down the middle this afternoon. Long walk enhanced by the camera.
So here I am standing in the front of the Art Center when John comes up and we chat and it got round to Harding, then turned toward Harding Park Golf Course sometime late in Sam Snead's pro career in the 80s (probably carded lots of 80s by that time). John tells me of how a camera click pissed off The Slammer as it went off a split-second after he came to the top of his swing. Snead turned around as the ball went askew and glared right at John, skewering him with his enlarged eyes. John immediately gave him a sheepish, toothy smile and spread his hands and quietly turned away and left the tee with the others in the gallery. He knew it wouldn't help matters at all to try explaining the camera belonged to the man standing right behind him at the time of the click.

The Limerick(s) of Aloyisius and Narcissus
There was a roach named Aloysius.
He was in the sink licking dishes.
He had terrible luck
And his last word was fk,
And now he sleeps with the fishes.
He had a small follower named Narcissus,
Who like him rests in the abysses.
To show his chagrin
He threw himself in
And he thought as he drowned, "Who will miss us?"

Sat in a Turd Day's Night Fever
I could look at that swing all night! Wish I could freeze-frame it.
It gives me hot flashbacks.

The entire set of 66 recordings? Are you serious? I mean, c'mon. Really? Can this be true? Hey, that is more than enough to have a tournament. It doesn't have to be NCAA-approved. A record turn-out at the first annual tournament of Guns and Roses, folks. The stage is set for the first round and there may be some upsets. What's your pick in the match-up between Freewheelin' and Planet Waves, Chongo? Well, as you know, I'm a fan of any Dylan-oriented trivia and have an extensive archive on my computer. I'm going with Freewheelin', kind of a gut reaction, but I'm actually on a tight rope here, because I'm from Mars, myself. Do you see that guy over on the Freewheenlin' bench, Mouse? He's incognito, got the fake 'nays? Is he...yep, I think it's the Nobelist himself, the Nashville Flash himself. I'll be a sending monkey if it's not.
Well, it could have been Bob, but it probably wasn't. Like in that film?

A fine shot of Les Doigts of the A-ha Face.
From "Airplane" to our plane, Maureen McGovern has a cameo as the OT Penguin.OMG, we're in deep doo-doo, I just effin' know it!
Have you ever listened to Mo's version of Here You Come Again? Well, I have, Jimi.
Leavin' it up to you as to how you like it, but she was a knockout backinthe80s.
She could've wrapped me 'round her little finger, but I was married. Meh. Just ramblin' again. Time to crash.

Ten Thousand Flaming Yaks
Ten thousand maniacs posted all their deepest thoughts
Breaking through the silent screams imprisoned by robots
The world as told by climbers and old climbers on the blink
With photos, music, stories, and poems, and things that make you think
Our life is like a Ferris wheel that just keeps going 'round
Catapulted into space our feet don't touch the ground
Until our mind is motionless the ride is never done
This climb that we have started we all follow past the setting sun
The world is seen much differently through a climber's eyes
As long as there are mountains tall the spirit in us flies
Though some of us can't climb like we always loved to do
The climbing spirit carries forth in everything we do
These words are but a tribute to the members of this tribe
Exclusive to the Flames thread and intrinsic to this scribe
Ten thousand posts are memorable and noteworthy as a score
I hope our humble host presides o'er tens of thousands more
So I leave it to the Man and the Mouse as he is known
To guide along the pages of this blog to the unknown
So for now I shall withdraw to my hovel in the west
Allowing winds to blow this palaver wherever it is best
Retreating with this allegory to stairways in the sky
Imaginary windmills and my robot friend Ay Aye

Hey, hooblie,
Now we're rocking and rolling so let's all go bowling
If you're not up for some rolfing then we could try golfing
Something better to do than to sit in a pew
Down on our knees to the long-suffering Jeez
(Who was a scratch golfer & the first of the Trinity to attempt V7 on the gates of heaven)
The traditional day we go out to play
You could meet with your mate and go climb a 5.8
Or find your friend Ben who's leading 5.10
Or just put on some Khan and meditate like John
And then kick back on the lawn and medicate, mon
But it turns out there's rain so it's omphaloskepsis* again
--Nitro the Mediator (former Gladiator) in the intro to "Intro to Introspection; a work of philosophy for those who can't"
* Omphaloskepsis or navel-gazing is contemplation of one's navel as an aid to meditation.
The word comes from Greek omphalos (navel) + skepsis (act of looking, examination).

That's right, amigo de la deserto.
It's Quinto de Marzone. Let's make this a GREAT DAY, otay, jefe?

Why must she always be waiting on him hand and foot?
Why must I always be the thief?
Is this the music that will stand the test of time, the thief of thieves?
No, because no note is never-ending.
And you still sit there stifling tears of rage because of commercial interruptions in the link.
But what were you expecting, seeker, and what ever were you thinking?
That's your problem in a nutshell, amigo...
you were thinking and not sinking, sinking, sinking...
into the mystic.
On this day, this auspicious fifth,
Persian scholar Naser Khosrow began the 7 year Middle Eastern journey which he later described in his book Safarnama...
Jeez blew'em all away with his FA of Manna on the Blob in JCCG in the hills of Galilee at a day camp where Mary used to send him that was run by an old goatherd named Dan, tribe of Benjamin, who kept a flock of gnarly old goats who were trained by him in a zealot-backed plot, but this was never mentioned because most of Nazareth was in on the scheme in one way or another and Jeez was only ten at the time...
But jefe, my son, why are you not out hitting it?[Click to View YouTube Video]

Neebee, thank you for the card and the puzzles! I did all the puzzles as soon as I saw them! So fun!
I have a friend who wrote a new game like sudoko, only more fun: "My Kakuro puzzle game, Kakuro Dojo, is now available from the Google Play Store. You may now play on iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch, Android phones and tablets, and a web browser on any device." So if you really like Sudoko, I think you will love Kakuro Dojo. It is a bit more complex so more challenging, so more fun. :)
Thank you for the cards you sent to Fairbanks, too. I appreciate them vicariously. Nobody forwarded them, and I am not even sure anyone is at the house right now. I have only two more weeks on the crutches. It is so super to be out of the wheelchair! Never, ever break your tibia out on the tundra, especially far, far away from all humans, while being adventurous and solo. Just never do that. I did save the blueberries, though. :)
Note on its way to you via snail mail. :)

To start off 89! Years

1928-2017 as fine a bunch
of fine years, as may have ever been?
thy way may be impure
And there is no cure
Off off dam spot
Often - from the Slavery to the space inside my brain- ,
I come here,
freed'd from those conflicted confines - my mind made up,
It is a hop- skip -jump, a'straight-in. . . .
I come here with thoughts that were, in the thinking, Of some sort of importance.
Interesting at least in the writing ?
I hope - - - Or as I know no interest to anyone at all.
Often -also- I'm 'mid train of thought' and so come off thoughtless
and most often I'm glad to ignore it, and hope I've not transgressed _ _ _
wit :
Timid,
to the grand memory of the Magic that your Dad carried and passed to you
I wish for you and yours the 'soft grief' of knowing it was a wonderful journey!
the spark can be in life's memories, as soft as the touch of a blowing breeze.
bit of the "', ho hell" I've seen it from both under a rock and above.
