Are Democrats really stupid enough to think that criminals and terrorists (with bad histories) will actually fill out a background check?? They will have a friend or family member (with a good history) buy a gun for them. This is the dumbest gun law ever written. And the Dems are saying this is common sense laws? These idiots need to be impeached for being so stupid.

It is a common sense law. The principle isn't flawed. It's how we go about implementing the law.

We should have a reasonable standard for gun ownership and do everything possible to see that standard met.

Before ringing up the sale, cashiers call in a check to the FBI or to other designated agencies to ensure that each customer does not have a criminal record or isn’t otherwise ineligible to make a purchase. More than 100 million such checks have been made in the last decade, leading to more than 700,000 denials.

Never, ever, in my entire life have I had, seen, watched, or heard of a seller filling out a form for a prospective firearms purchaser.

The ONLY time its is even remotely reasonable is in Trust-based purchases of NFA items whereby a wet signature is not required.
