From a comment to a NY Times article about Trump firing his campaign manager (Thanks to John from Stowe, PA):

Why do even papers like the (New York) Times fail to mention the real elephant in the room? Sure, Trump is a narcissist, a bully, a racist, bigot, misogynist, and just generally a smarmy git. He berates the disabled, lies with every breath, has stiffed literally thousands of contractors and companies who he owes money. He has deliberately preyed on the vulnerable and run a succession of con schemes in the US and globally. He has the temperament of a five year old brat raised by klansmen.

But those are not the primary reasons why his is such a singularly disgraceful campaign.

He has zero experience in or knowledge of anything pertaining to the job he seeks. He is like a kid who just graduated high school with a C average seeking to become the head of the nuclear physics labs at Los Alamos. Like an ice cream truck driver seeking the job of CEO of Citibank. He has no background, no experience, no training, no education in anything relevant to the job, except seeing presidents on television and donating to a few campaigns.

The Republicans whined incessantly that Obama with his Summa grades at Columbia Law, editing Harvard Law Review, teaching Constitutional and other areas of law, work in local politics, then serving as an elected state senator then an elected US senator lacked enough experience for the job. trump has not served in any position anywhere, obviously cannot discern a tabloid from the news, knows zero about law. He is unqualified in every way possible.

Sorry to hear about the strife, Jim.

We've been genuinely trying to understand the motivations of a few Trump voters today...some of that understanding came a little quicker than others, let us say.

If you listen to right wing radio or media
and are a good Christian, right winger, or libertarian,
everything they say makes total sense, it's all True

Here's what they say
Libtards ARE the enemy!, they are like Satan tempting good conservatives to eat the apple they offer..

All our problems are because of the commie libtards and their free morals which are the cause of the breakdown of society...
all these immoralities that the libtards are promoting is going to make God mad and he's going to strike them down, it says it in the bible!

Only a Republican can save the day, so it doesn't matter who it is, Trump, Cruz, Lucifer. It's got to be a Repub.
The people on the media convinced me who to vote for,
and "I won't change my mind no matter what you say, it's as simple as that"
That's why!

Yes, I can see not wanting to see a black man become President, that is understandable

seeing that everything on your list is old news and already proven to be lies

but then your source must be that guy in Alabama posting from his basement....

and yeah, the more I think about it, I would not want a woman Pres either

a man has to stand on his principles after all

(Obama) bowed in submission before the Saudi King.

That is an exemplary misleading statement from a right-wing reactionary like RadioLoon Mike Gallagher.

George Bush (both of them) not only bowed to the Saudi King, they also held hands with him, like love-struck teenagers. There is a scene of this shown in Fahrenheit 911. As far as I know, Obama doesn't hold hands with the Saudi King.

Saudi customs (and other foreign customs), like bowing to the King, are not the same as American customs. Out of respect to foreign people and their leaders, our Presidents adapt to foreign customs when visiting other nations.

The President empathizes with foreign leaders, by mirroring that nation's customs and behaviors. This demonstrates acceptance of the other people, and reassures them that Americans don't find them and their customs to be unusual, unacceptable, repulsive or repugnant.

On the other hand . . . . . .

A clueless, tactless, self-unaware, bombastic and narcissistic boor like Trump would probably just stomp his way into the Saudi royal palace, touch the face of the King with his left hand, stick his feet up on the table to show the King the soles of his shoes, and then demand that the King be served a plate of of Trump's famous New York City-style pork ribs, and a large glass of Trump Vodka to wash it all down.

Instead of empathizing with people he does business with, Trump's battle plan in any given situation is to marginalize the other person, and to belittle their value and worth, and to refuse to honor contracts and agreements after the other person has already performed according to the contract.

Trump says that he will use his business experience to appropriately conduct himself with foreign leaders. But, he can't even properly conduct himself with a dishwasher at Mar-a-Lago, waitresses at Trump SOHO Tower, the small business construction contractors who built his Atlantic City casinos, or any of the other thousands and thousands of people whom Trump has swindled, defrauded, divested and despoiled.

Instead of accepting people who are different, Trump is a bigoted blowhard who openly calls for the expulsion and exclusion of those he perceives to be "The Enemy". Trump considers people who are not like him to be unusual, unacceptable, repulsive and repugant.

BlueBlocr, America is not a Christian nation.

It is a melting pot of all types of people and their different religions.

The current Christian majority of the population is being slowly reduced by the immigration of Muslims and the conversion of citizens to Islam.

So what?

We're in bed with the Saudis because they are sitting on THE economic prize of our era - a magnificent, discovered treasure that is akin to digging up a diamond the size of a VW Beetle, or finding a lump of gold the size of a house.

We are in bed with the Saudis to maintain access to their gigantic pool of what is currently the most valuable economic resource for mankind: petroleum.

The Saudis have already demonstrated, as during the Oil Crises in 1973 and 1977, that they can be intractable when it is convenient for them. It only makes sense that the U.S. placate them to keep the oil deliveries coming.

If you don't like our being in bed with the oil-producing Saudis, you should ride your bike, instead of driving a car.

You should reduce your consumption of grid electricity to zero, with solar panels and batteries.

You should buy food at a local Farmers' Market that is grown with natural, composted fertilizers and on land that is worked and plowed by draft animals.

You should restrict or eliminate your use of the following materials whose production is energy and petroleum intensive:

lumber and other milled forms of wood

 plastics

 steel, aluminum and other metals

brick, cinderblock and other masonry building products

 concrete

 cotton fabric

 carbon fiber

 glass and glass fiber

 pottery and other ceramic products

 industrial chemicals of all types

compressed gases, such as CO2 and nitrogen

That pretty much allows for animal hides for clothing and shelter, sapling trees to make a teepee, dried gourds for containing nuts and berries, and rocks to throw at wild animals that come too close.

You can vote for Gary Johnson a former pot smoking, entrepreneur, libertarian. No way he'll get elected but you at least don't have to vote for Hillary or Donald. As a bonus you are increasing support for a party not fed millions of dollars by the same corporate interests controlling the republocrats.

Edit: in California it doesn't matter who you vote for, it will go Dem. We try to convince each other because we feel bad for people making choices we don't agree with.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

You appear not to have any problem using oil sold to up by the Saudis.

If you don't know why we engage with that Saudis, your knowledge of the region is simply woeful.
