So far so good. Another year coming to an end with no climate change disasters.

aim it for LA and you can fix two things for the price of one,

Mono, this is a great clip, I want to post it again so folks don't pass it up...
Fast and furious, all the deniers on this thread should watch it. That is, if they want to learn something about the subject.

Looks like you don't have any friends that live around Boulder, CO.
Where they experienced a 1,000 year weather event.
But you're probably thinking of just the US...

That video does quite a job, hitting the main denier memes head on. And quickly! But will a single one of the denialists here watch or try to understand?

I watched it.. Wasted 3:41.. Who is that weasel talking like hes on a binge of extra caff coffee.
Sounds like the understanding part went way over your head. Prove me wrong: What does he say about Antarctica?

He reminded me of "SHAMWOW MAN"....Pre- rehab..
OK, Ron has no clue. Anyone else?

I watched it. Saw a few misrepresentations. Very entertaining.
Sketch's turn. Specify the few misrepresentations.

He says it is true that many warming events began without carbon dioxide levels increasing first, but once the warming began CO2 levels increased GREATLY AMPLIFYING THE WARMING! That last part is not proven, but it is his main point.
This is not misleading, it's well established in many recent studies. Just grabbing one at random, Parrenin 2013:
Our chronology and the resulting aCO2-AT phasing strengthens the hypothesis that there was a close coupling between aCO2 and AT on both orbital and millennial time scales. The aCO2 rise could contribute to much of the AT change during TI, even at its onset, accounting for positive feedbacks and polar amplification (21), which magnify the impact of the relatively weak rCO2 change (Fig. 4) that alone accounts for ~0.6°C of global warming during TI (21). Invoking changes in the strength of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation is no longer required to explain the lead of AT over aCO2 (22).
He goes on to say 90 percent of the warming took place after the C)2 levels increased, implying CO2 levels were causing the additional warming.
CO2 and other GHG played a large role, that's well known. See above.

Regarding the lack of recent warming, he absurdly uses 2009 to now. A three or four year trend is much less compelling than a 15 (or 17) hiatus, don't you think?
How many denialist blogs have you read that use a two-year comparison, 2012 and 2013 Arctic ice?
Then he shows a 30 year chart, with 1998 cooler than every year 2004. It's BS.
Nope, not BS, that's a well-known graph showing temperature anomalies after adjustment for ENSO, solar and volcanic effects, per Foster & Rahmstorf (2011).

Let's see. Warming (from a relatively cool base) causes increased plant growth, which results in more CO2 production. Hmm.
Is that the Sketch hypothesis?
You're 0 for 4 in finding those misrepresentations you claimed.

Haha. Everywhere...you can't trust just the BBC!
And...
or, is it...
Is it any wonder people are waking up to the scam. It's like a Monty Python skit...how can anyone take it seriously anymore?

You can "take it seriously" if you actually read the content about how climate change works. Focusing just on the catchphrase "global warming" misses the overall effect on local weather. How about you read some actual science on ocean currents and precipitation patterns rather than depending on the newspapers or blogs for your information?

Really? Don't recall offering any opinion on Lance, either on ST or elsewhere. Could be wrong, I guess, but the stakes are totally different on this one, don't you think?
