Edith Piaf ≈ La Vie En Rose
Hooblie,
Love the Zappa solo. I always have a hankering for one of those. I watched him sit on a stool at McAlister Auditorium, Tulane University do that for about 2 hours one night, 1976 or so. The Mothers were no more but the band was great. It wasn't a typical Zappa show, as he didn't speak much; just wailed on his axe.

Right now?
Dear John- Ryan Adams+The Cardinals.
Yo Tobia
I've seen Social Distortion heaps of times.
They used to book, and sell out a solid month "residency" at the House of Mouse(Blues) in Anaheim.
Anyway, one of the last times I saw them there they had just returned home from a long tour.
For the encore, or second set, really, Mike Ness came out alone with only a chair and his gold Les Paul, and played a brand new, like debut new, song called Bakersfield.
They had broken down there just days before, that close to home, and it's also an obvious tribute to Buck Owens.
Can't post a link, but check it- Bakersfield. What a kickass song.
Dunno if it made it on to an album or not.

drljefe, songs and story above. Thanks. I never heard it before. I don't think Mike wanted to be in Bakersfield.
I watched an interview with Mike Ness last night. He's been at it a long time. Great band. Last night they played songs spanning career. Good interview for someone who wants to know the life of a rocker.
I've never seen them live but would like to.

Iron and Wine+Calexico
Two great tastes that go great together.
Especially on a muggy night in Tucson's oldest neighborhood.

^^^^ homework, spot on bro !!!!!
my little mountain town up north came complete with a ninety year old who did justice to the saw he packed around, a stradivarius. as authentically decrepit as he was, and what with real manure on the boots of the passers by, it was less like busking (nttiawwt) and more like a quaint bit of local color that i was lucky enough to get in on the tail end of. it seemed music was what he had to say.
of course he returned a smile. when he was in front of the bakery, donuts came to mind. he had a spot by the post office ... but sadly, it's too late to write him a letter
