That's not my phrase, Moosie- it's PolitiFact's.
A very useful resource for sifting the chaff- not that this will matter to Repug-droids...their programming won't end until they leave the planet.

What I said, Lois, is this:
Because Lois is like most of the other Repug-droids here on ST- little/no attempts at actual dialogue, &/or diversion, &/or ad hominems. Lois is somewhat less guilty of this than most, I'd have to say.
You do make regular attempts at dialogue (overly verbose, but dialogue nonetheless), and tend to revert to ad hominems as a defensive tactic on occasion. You regularly use diversion and distraction in your tactics.
I'll stand by what I said: you are somewhat less guilty of these tactics than most.

So have you been to China...yes or no.
Yes.
I think it is funny that the people on the capitalist side are defending China while the socialist types are decrying it.
They must be doing something right...

• CBO: Between 1.3 million and 3.6 million jobs saved or created.
• IHS/Global Insight: 2.45 million jobs saved or created.
• Macroeconomic Advisers: 2.3 million jobs saved or created.
• Moody’s Economy.com: 2.5 million jobs saved or created.
This is almost comical...
Somebody REALLY needs to put down the punch! I mean, are you gullible enough to believe the stimulus created ANY jobs, let alone millions???
First,
...These are not NET jobs! The problem with Government "creating" jobs is that while they count the jobs they create they do not count the jobs that are lost or not created in the private sector when resources are channeled to the public sector! We now have the lowest percentage of EMPLOYED people that we have had since the Great Depression. The only reason our unemployment numbers have not gone EVEN higher than they are is that record numbers have dropped out of the workforce or were no longer eligible for unemployment. Last month we created NO jobs. ZERO. We need to create at least 150K jobs a month just to keep up with Population growth.
Second, let's say the CBO is correct with their own numbers. 1.3 Million jobs created - but at the cost of about $461K per job given the price tag of the stimulus. DO you know what small businesses could do with that kind of capital??? Now you see why NET jobs were actually lost right? Right? Or are you still drinking the punch??

you may be a better climber than me, and smarter to boot, but on politics and economics you're usually wrong - sorry
Joe, right now you can probably climb circles around me. Nevertheless, I remember arguing with you about the stimulus back in 2009. I argued that it would be flushing money down the toilet and I showed you why with this chart:
If I was wrong, somehow I must have missed the recovery.

Israel is having some minor financial issues, just like the rest of the world.
just like the rest of the world???? good grief. it is minor when talking about your beloved. Its major to you when talking about America.
If America goes under, so does Israel. So it would seem that if America has major problems, then so does Israel.

I did have those wall street robbers blatantly cheat me out of my life savings now that you mention it. The SEC assured me that the robber lost his license to sell stocks
Karl, did you make bad choices as we all sometimes do? Who has not lost some money in the market - isn't it a win some, lose some deal. More risk - more risk of loss. I lost a huge pile of bucks on Lucent way back when but was not that my fault for not being more diversified.
When they totally lie to you Lois, it's not as much bad choice as fraud
Then you wrote
Regarding your investment, it sounds like you paid "stupid tax" (D Ramsey). That is when we do something financially or professionally wherein we should have known better and it costs us big bucks. We failed to exercise due diligence and we lose a whole lot of money, as a result. It is called paying stupid tax and we ALL pay it at some point or another - each and every one of us.
yeah, it 'Sounds" like that to you based on zero information and zero evidence like the rest of your proclamations. I personally met with CEOs and handed them checks in person. I've visited facilities in person. I've looked at the details and numbers in private placement offerings. When executives use financing to finance their lifestyle and brokers lie to get investments, it's more than "stupid"
Why will you never blame the crooks? It's the same mentality of blaming a rape victim because they are attractive. How about all those Enron employees? Why are lying cheating greedly executives able to steal and squander people's life savings and the law is so light on them. I guess Ken Lay's wife is still filthy rich from his ill-gotton money.
peace

dept of energy to announce more guaranteed loans (guaranteed with OUR tax dollars)...the doe claims these loans will create 283 jobs for a modest 23 MILLION per job
Clean energy is about WAY more than jobs. Oil is running out and despite GOP fantasy, there's not enough in this country or the whole friggin world to keep our petrol driven economy rolling. Obama is right to pour money into clean energy, our future totally, directly and ultimately depends on it

Lois
Certainly not Karl, however. He made ALL of his choices and he has an education, credentials, sound mind and sound body. I am not even criticizing his choices. I am at a loss to understand his bitterness.
I'm not bitter. I'm the happiest person I know and I know a lot happier people than most do.
I'm fighting injustice and the take-down of this country by cheaters and greedy bastards (and people who don't know or can't see better) We're being lied to, manipulated and milked and people who see it need to speak up
Peace

Yeah, Karl, but in the end it always IS our choice because we did not exercise due diligence.
You just didn't try hard enough karl. You should have been able to tell that those guys were crooks.

I'm a conservative. If somebody INTENTIONALLY LIES and takes your money, I' for PUTTING THEM IN PRISON instead of dope smokers and such

Karl,
Dope smokers are no bargain either. Hear what is going on in Mexico these days with the drug wars and drug gangs. Dope has the blood of innocents on it.
This is just ignorant talk. It's legal for medical reasons in california and folks grow it without any big deal. It's attracts criminals when it's a crime.
Listen to Lois, Crash the world economy or steal peoples life savings, it's ok, you're white collar. Smoke dope, go to jail, even if there's no physical harm in it
Peace

Wrong, wrong wrong
Don't be so gullible Lois. Big Money skates. They aren't even bothering to investigate if they broke the law.
Sorta like Bush and Cheney can lie to get us in an Iraq war and kill thousands but no investigation, no testimony. Too big to fail, Too important to prosecute
Shame

DOE has been in business since the 70s and cost us roughly $20 Billion per year. What have the given us? After nearly a Trillion dollars have been spent, what does the government know about energy? Absolutely nothing. DOE is not going to give us the energy source of the future.
Look at Solyndra to see where this money is being poured. No jobs, no energy solutions. Just lost money.
This is the same with nearly every government entity - for example Dept. of Homeland Defense. Every real threat, like the Shoe Bomber, Underwear Bomber all got through airport security and were stopped by PRIVATE CITIZENS. Dept. of Homeland Defense has caught some drug dealers and kiddy porn collectors, that's it.
