Holy Schiest! The Full Moon must be rising, because the right-wing loonies are out.

Ron A & Tioga? Are you folks really this angry against our wonderful country? Most things here are really good for almost all of us.

Sorry that things have not worked out as well for you, but maybe you could quit believing the folks that post negative information, and you could instead, act on positive information.

America is still the greatest country in the world for those seeking opportunity.

To which one of these groups.

"Militias" have been springing up like crabgrass around here. The funny thing is there is usually at least 1 federal or state agent 'undercover' for every 2 regular citizens. They're usually also usually the ones wanting action and suggesting absurd violent sh1t. It wouldn't surprise me if that a-hole that suggested women as shields draws a W-2 from our taxes.

Either way what they had in Nevada was a mob of very angry people. You also had people that were perhaps, shall we say, not the deepest thinkers. There was no cohesion and every one of them would have been cut down by the BLM thugs had someone blinked.

You can see the gov't abuses all around the country now, often in color with sound thanks to pervasive recordings and the internet. The NM police just murdered a homeless guy on video. In Kali at least 5 thugs with badges murdered Kelly Thomas, also on video.

We are truly living in interesting times.

On one point I likely agree with you more than you might like.
I've been against the whole Department of Homeland Security mega complex since George W Bush's advisors proposed it. Homeland Insecurity is an undemocratic, hysterical and counterproductive response to the horror of 911. Also a convenient tool to abuse suspicious travelers and various law abiding citizens.
I have written to my Senators and Representative more than once about the use of FISA, passed in 1978, when it has been up for reauthorization.
FISA's original intent was to provide a legal framework for the Feds to conduct intelligence gathering against foreign agents in this country. One of it's goals was to prevent "illegal" espionage against US citizens (can you say Watergate?).
FISA has the fatal flaw that the "court" meets in secret and who is on the court is also secret. Carter signed it. Bush II and his cabal expanded it.
On July 28, 2007, President Bush called on Congress to pass legislation to reform the FISA in order to ease restrictions on surveillance of terrorist suspects where one party (or both parties) to the communication are located overseas.
...
Under the Protect America Act of 2007, communications that begin or end in a foreign country may be wiretapped by the U.S. government without supervision by the FISA Court. The Act removes from the definition of "electronic surveillance" in FISA any surveillance directed at a person reasonably believed to be located outside the United States. As such, surveillance of these communications no longer requires a government application to, and order issuing from, the FISA Court.
So we can thank Shrub and his cabal for essentially removing even the FISA court from most oversight.
This was passed and is the legal cover for what has occurred since. Absent any restraints by the so called "conservative" Supreme Court.

Obama and Holder have also been complicit for the usual tawdry political reasons. They are now pulling it back since they don't have to worry about re-election. And thanks to Snowden.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court appoints the FISA court. Can you say "Rehnquist and then Roberts"? Do you trust THEM?

Do you think McCain, Cain, Romney, Palin, Perry, Bachmann, or the rest of them (excepting Ron Paul) would have done differently with Homeless Insecurity or FISA? Hillary might have moved in the right direction, possibly.

Hey Ron.
I have disagreed with you for years on many points and even agreed on a few. You often get pretty excited but are mostly respectful. I think you are mistaken in most ways about the Bundy fiasco.
I hold no ill feelings towards you.
I'm not pleased when others insult you. We can disagree and be sarcastic and hoot and holler but we don't need to insult each other.

I'm wondering who gets to define "enemies domestic". I'm siding against the militia on the Bundy issue. He says that he is against the guv'mint, therefore he could be considered a domestic enemy. Is it about the rule of law and the right to redress or is it about something else?

As a Canadian I've always read it to be enemies against the constitution and the people of the united states. Maybe you can quote that phrase in the paragraph that it was written in for better context.

If it were just for the government, the current government, the administration that got more $ from lobbyists to run more ads and get elected, I wouldn't put as much stock in it.

Ron has the right to be a member of an armed militia. I would not want to be his neighbor, his friend or in contact with him in any way. He is dangerous.
