So it's 7 PM EST.
I don't usually post to this thread but tonight is the exception I guess.
I've got a glass of Eagle Rare bourbon, on the rocks of course, in front of me.
In my left hand is a cigarette...um yeah, that's what I should call it on the internet....
Happy Friday all, it's been a heck of a week here!

I'm with ya in spirit if not spirits Fritzie! Gotta wait for #1 woman to get
home sos we can go to the office partay. Oh boy! Actually, there are some
very cool people there so it isn't so heinous as it might sound.
Gonna bring some Unibroue Blanche de Chambly and keep a deathgrip on it,
not that I have to worry with a bunch of winers around.
CHOSS STOKE! What a Heap!

7 am i walked into the frosty
sierra nevada, with a heavy pack
and lofty (for me) aspirations.
the frosting on my rack was a six
pack of the sierra nevada torpedo extra ipa.
i humped up the approach,
feeling the chair time i've recently been wearing.
i found my south facing target, racked up,
cracked an ipa... 'bout 8 am i guess but im not looking anyway,
cause i'm mountain bound today,
i rope solo up my fist goal at 10a R and
return to earth a little less foul.
finish off my bottle,
and work around the corner to my next hope,
this one goes down at 10d. rope solo up to the
crux and de-cluster f*#k one two many times,
pump out at the crux and turn tail to the ground,
afraid of the rope-solo fall.
i finish the lead on aid so's i leave no gear,
by now im on my fourth ale and its nary 10am.
the dog wants more hiking so i pick up a moderate
sized block and stuff it in my pack and carry it
over the crest and to the shadowy west face of the crag.
my last ambition for the day is a rope solo ascent of
hyperspace.
i succeed and then climb the seldomly done 2nd pitch
and touch down to my filth ale, and sit shirtless
in the december sun basking in my beer buzz
and life cocktail of success mixed with failure.
im even more me than i was yesterday.

PTPP...follow up from last week post..The grape juice takes about 7 days to go through fermentation for about 60 gallons or one barrel. Depending on sugar content of the grapes you started with will get about a 12-14% alcohol content. Once through fermentation the winemaker will have the wine go through malolactic fermentation to smooooooth out the wine. Then make some adjustments...and so on and it turns into a multiple year process to get a good wine. In some cultures such as with the Portuguese people that I am familiar with, after 7 days or so when fermentation is complete and juice is now wine, a very young wine, it is time for a ole fashion get together and consume the new wine. Some will infuse the wine with ever-clear or some other high alcohol content to jack the stuff up. So what you have is a very strong tasting, high in acid, high alcohol brew that some people akin it to drinking diesel fuel, also will take old paint off furniture and so on. Portagee Diesel.

Norwegian! You sir: are one hard, cold-temp solo-roped climbing while drinking, dude!
A Toast! (slurp)
Never mastered the drinking while climbing aspect of the sport. I'd get a headache, lose all ambition, and doze in the sun or shade. Whichever felt better at the time.

Kokane! Take me back to the north woods. Looks like a grandchild of Olympia crossed with Natural Light. I'd drink gallons just for the name. I must be squarely in the target market.
-------------------Tonight
Starting off with a can of corn slathered in butter and red chili powder. (A Los Angles treat.) Washed down with a full glass of Gnarly Head(R) Pinot Grigio that is light and fresh as a summer morning.
Now I'm having some of this foo-foo ready made high end French onion soup from Costco as a 2nd course. This is going down with a full glass of Gnarly Head(R) Old Vine Zin[fandel] that I consider my "home base" of grape based beverages.
It has been a crazy week or two on the Taco. Thank the good lord for my dear friends on the Friday night thread. We should definitely all get together in Reno sometime. It's a spiritual half-way point between California and Idaho with Ontario in a wide orbit that sometimes comes in close.
I'll be working through the weekend again but come Wednesday morning I'll be bouldering near Swan Slab in the Valley just as soon as the rock warms up a few minutes in the dawn light.

Brandon - Don't be shy. Your post was okay. Typical drunk statement.
OK. Here is from a couple weeks ago:
Desert wine tonight: VOGA Moscato from Italy in this after-shave looking bottle.
