Wow. Speechless. Thanks for that Jerry. That was beautiful.
I think I have to go get that music...
Way up in the mountains on a high timberline, there's a twisted old tree called the Bristlecone Pine.
The wind there is bitter; it cuts like a knife. It keeps that tree holding on for dear life.
But hold on it does, standing its ground.
Standing as empires rise and fall down.
When Jesus was gathering lambs to his fold, the tree was already a thousand years old.
Now the way I have lived there ain't no way to tell, when I die if I'm going to heaven or hell.
So when I'm laid to rest it would suit me just fine to sleep at the feet of the Bristlecone Pine.
And as I would slowly return to this earth what little this body of mine might be worth would soon start to nourish the roots of that tree.
And it would partake of the essence of me.
And who knows what's found as the centuries turn.
A small spark of me might continue to burn.
As long as the sun does continue to shine down on the limbs of the Bristlecone Pine.
Now the way I have lived there ain't no way to tell, when I die if I'm going to heaven or hell.

Great job Jerry, I'm crying again, climbing hundreds of routes with Bruce I'm miss him we were so close were just like brothers and to be at the Stone House was the perfect place to send off Brutis of Wyde/ Herkermer.To all the great people who made it such a special day, a big thanks to EM for putting it togeather. R.I.P. Bruce

It was so great to meet Bruce and Em's tribe at the memorial....what a great group of people you all are. I was honored to be there and moved to see the spirit of Bruce flowing among us in the humor and emotion and sweet generosity of that gathering. There was alot of love in that room...along with that Turkey.
Jerry, thanks for putting together that beautiful slideshow. It had the tears sliding down my face again. You really caught the feeling of the event. And thanks too for showing Tempest at the film museum. I think its the finest climbing film I've seen. The tribute to Bruce at the end was beyond moving.
Thanks to you Eric too for posting your photos, and for all the other photos that were posted. What a great bunch of friends and what a tribute to Brutus.

seriously all, I'd urge us all to keep gathering and keep climbing. Any friends of Brutus and Em is a friend of mine. So even if I didn't get a chance to meet and/or spend as much time as I wanted with folks, ping me anytime. let's get some climbing going.
speaking of which, I'll be in the Mammoth Area this coming weekend, but will have limited distance I can go hike, since I'll have a family member in tow who has a bum knee. But I'll plan on having the last few swigs of the Turkey and toast one to Brutus for sure.
Special Turkey juice for sure. :)

Darlah, first, make sure your images are hosted online at something like Flickr, Photobucket, etc. then in the spot where it says "please enter your reply below" when you go to post just paste the URL of image between tags like these in the first image below... You can copy that URL of the image from the online source by right clicking and going to "Properties" if you have a Windows based machine.

Wow.
I had never met Brutus or Em before. Em greeted me like an old friend. She has an incredible energy and I instantly adored her.
As I spent a whole weekend helping with the house, hearing stories, and seeing the videos of Brutus's wonderful gap-toothed smile...
I found myself feeling intense regret over missing meeting them at Wide-fest.
We left a day before they showed up, and Erik was bummed when he found out they had come and we missed them.
I'm so blessed to have been part of such a wonderful event,
and delighted to have finally met so many people I've only know via. internet up till now. Great to see a few familiar faces too.

I admit I was ease dropping a bit on The Chief while he was telling stories and pointing out trails and routes up the canyon.

JTM- thanks for sharing. You (and mooch too,) made some nice photos. Wish I'd had more time to connect with you and Eric. I think that was me who grabbed your camera when you were doing the self portrait.
Dingus, It was great meeting you. Lets hook up at the pass soon.
My only regret from the weekend was having to leave early. I really wanted to see the slides and hear more stories. And we should have had a big group hug after that ceremony!
