Dingus...it's just because someone tagged it once, with "TURLOCK" in big letters across the face.

Found this pic of Kamps on Turlock boulder with even older graffiti...

There were people scuba diving at Zuma - they were wearing 5 mil wetsuits! 5 mil just to stay warm. And it isn't like I have lots of extra padding like Mark and some other people to keep me warm. Give me 70 degree water and I will stay in all day. This was just a good reminder of why I climb now and no longer surf.

& it's not like i'm going to lose any of my padding. Jan I went from a 7 mm to a 2-3 mm wet suit. That belly fat really works. I keep telling myself if I boulder & climb while i'm this heavy I'll get strong, but I just get injured.

When I use to work in a Scuba Shop, we recommended people to wear 7 mil wetsuits for diving. Reason is the deeper you go, the more the neoprene compresses from the pressure becoming thinner. That can get pretty cold when you are down 70 feet... If you only stay on the surface, 3 mil is just fine.

Gnome, the fact is if a sissy girl like me can handle it... I know you can.

With regard to "Turlock" at Stony... It was Turlock! (as seen on the third page of this thread). The word was used as a kind of declaration or a kind of cheer. My friend's dad used to use it when I was in High School. He'd say a string of words that always started with Turlock! Push! Straight up!
Calabases! usually when someone scored a touch down or did something unexpectedly good. Wierd huh?

No! The boulder had TURLOCK painted across it. Some mo from Turlock tagged Stoney. Just as the Jesus Wall is called that because it had the word Jesus painted on it for years!

Pyro, peace out buddy. This is NOT your thread and anyone is welcome to post here unless they start bagging on you. I am the only one allowed to do that.

So Jesus the lord and savior tagged the wall or was it a Mexican named "Hey-Zuss"?

Which is why I always surfed at 4 steps just north of the county line. Ventura would even let us sleep on the beach.
