The way I have heard it, those "best" are like the bottom of the barrel.
No real lawyer is going to represent Trump, and then wait for him to sabotage his own case by tweeting incriminating outbursts, in the middle of the night.
If I am fast enough, and can write my name on a discarded matchbook cover fast enough, I can become Trump's Lead Counsel:
"Yawner, the defendant pleads insanity, with an excuse . . . "
The worst part of digging to the bottom of the barrel is the slime at the very bottom.

Nobody, here, has had to see what he's seen.
Just one example:
A guy goes to free solo the Braille Book, on Higher Cathedral, and gets in trouble.
The best pilots in the world, from a Naval Air Station in Lemoore, come out to rescue him.
As I understand that situation, the helicopter had this guy, on a rope. The wind compelled the pilot to pull back on the collective pitch, and the helicopter pulled away from the cliff, losing altitude, and the guy, on the rope, was fatally dragged through the trees.
This was not a Duck, quacking in a pond.
This was a serious situation, wherein the Duck of Death had to go deal with a terrible situation that nobody else on this forum has ever had to deal with.
Please, don't give the Duck any grief. You don't know. You've never been there.
I was about four minutes removed from being, right there, when a guy fell from the Jungle at the Royal Arches, and landed on a pillar just above the Devil's Bathtubs. WVB didn't know where he was, until I said I'd found some boots that mysteriously fell from the sky, and fell into the Tubs.
The Duck has been there, seen more, and is a better man than you can imagine.
In a very real sense, the Duck is the last little piece of Jim Bridwell that is still alive. Or, at least, the last man standing who Jim Bridwell had as his lieutenant. The Duck is the last man standing from the original Jim Bridwell YOSAR crew.

1992 repubs lose to Clinton when perot wins 19% of popular vote.
2000 bush jr first wins the primaries with a campaign of lies against McCain, and then wins the presidency with massive funding from the swamp and a campaign of lies against Gore, despite losing the popular vote, plus Nader taking 2.8%. junior immediately provides astounding large tax cuts for the rich. he attempts to privatize social security but fails. His ties to crooked energy industry are Russia levels of corruption. His ill thought and unplanned attack on Iraq expecting parades was based on complete lies about WMD, cost many trillions of dollars, destroyed Iraq, led to ongoing strife with the islamic state. Between that, the denial of climate change, and a war on family planning, the repubs crippled effective US foreign policy.
2004 bush jr continues his funding from the swamp, defeats Kerry with the help of enormous swiftboating lies, pandering to the morons thinking we are fixing Iraq, and election tampering in Ohio.
2008 the kooks and racists took over the repub campaign, turning the idiot palin into their star. However McCain did not play up this idiocy nor take advantage of it as trumpy later did. Economy falls just before the election, helping elect Obama.
This popularity of Palin, which is truly the worship of deliberate ignorance, marks a turning point to where the elections become dominated by nonsense. The rise of alt media and kook news on the internet allows everyone to think they are the wisest; no matter that their IQ is 63.

I spoke to two former federal investigators who told me Cohen was introduced to Donald Trump by his father-in-law, Fima Shusterman, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Ukraine who arrived in the U.S. in 1975. Shusterman was in the garment business and owned a fleet of taxicabs with his partners, Shalva Botier and Edward Zubok – all three men were convicted of a money-laundering related offense in 1993. "Fima may have been a (possibly silent) business partner with Trump, perhaps even used as a conduit for Russian investors in Trump properties and other ventures," a former federal investigator told me. "Cohen, who married into the family, was given the job with the Trump Org as a favor to Shusterman."

Cohen joined the Trump Organization around the time that the second Sunny Isles tower was being built. A few years earlier, he had invested $1.5 million in a short-lived Miami-based casino boat venture run by his two Ukrainian business partners, Arkady Vaygensberg and Leonid Tatarchuk. Only three months after its maiden voyage, it would become the subject of a large fraud investigation. But Cohen was saved from his bad investment by none other than Trump himself, who hired Cohen as an attorney just before his casino ship sank. A source who investigated Cohen's connections to Russia told me, "Say you want to get money into the country and maybe you're a bit suspect. The Trump organization used lawyers to allow people to get money into the country."

It's never a good sign when you send the head of the CIA to do SecState's or UNAmb's job. In fact, I'd go so far as to say to protect our democracy we should enact legislation to make directors of the CIA and NSA ineligible for cabinet positions, the presidency, and vice presidency.
