Yep... somebody went ahead and posted a picture of a bloody dead kid...

So clearly anyone who thinks government overreach has gone way too far is somehow related to the OK bombers who blew up a daycare center.

Typical entertaining 'logic' in these threads.

Yep, just like anyone who enjoys a toke every once in a while supports Mexican drug cartels destroying public land to grow marijuana.

Speaking of destroying public land...

This has zip to do with mining or oil.

If I had a prospect on BLM land, I would nominate it for auction, and at the next scheduled lease sale, I would (hopefully) be the winning bidder for that tract.

Oil and gas development does not normally use very much surface area. You can drill 8 wells from a 2 acre pad, no problem. There are always tough environmental laws, and you had better toe the line. The thing about environmental regs vs. resource extraction, is that it isn't very expensive to comply. We do it on every well, be it on private or public land.

The thing with oil is that it is a subsurface use. If you want a drive around, I can drive right through endless farms and ranches with oil and gas wells on them. The BLM does not, as a rule, forbid oil and gas exploration, nor do they forbid hard rock mining. If it is off limits for some reason, we wouldn't waste our time on it. An exploration division is a hard working shop, and if you can't get the leases, you don't have a prospect and move on. Yep. That simple. Both parties can use the land at the same time. Cows do well around oil and gas wells 99.9% of the time, but if there is some rule forbidding development in a certain area, then we don't waste our work on it.

If there were mineral resources that nobody knew about, I would be surprised. Still, you have to jump through BLM hoops. The paper trail is long and obvious.

I see this as a guy who "feels" like he owned the land, but never had a deed or Patent to the property. There are real property laws at stake here, and I am pretty well versed on oil and gas law, which is basically real property law. He is on very shaky ground. I believe that he has no legal standing.

edit: I do feel that a lot of BLM land should be sold off for development. Not everywhere, but in certain places. Not in a wilderness area, or area with unique qualities that require it to be protected. I'm talking about a new Homestead act. 160 to 640 acre tracts here and there where it makes sense. Private land is hard to come by in some areas, and vast areas of the west are tied up in big ranching operations. You can't move in and live there. Surely, out of these millions of unused federal acres, some of it could be made available. The Homestead Act was a fair and equitable way to move land into private ownership.

NWO, is there any conspiracy theory that you DON"T believe in?

What about the one where Obama was going to flood the country with U.N.troops and put us under a one world government?

Didn't happen. Won't happen. Can't happen.

Do you believe that The New World Order has a secret base beneath the airport in Denver?

You post a lot about chemtrails. I've been seeing jet contrails for ages, and their appearance changes as they pass through areas of differing physical atmospheric conditions. Period.

People like you make me want to shake my head.

Yep. My great-uncle, who owns a lumber mill, would be quite surprised to learn that his business doesn't actually exist.

Careful BASE, they'll put you in the FEMA Camps.

I built a house on Forest Service land. I paid a county employee for the land. The FS told me to tear it down because they want to "thin the fuels" which is just another way of saying Dean Heller (R-NV) wants to sell it off to the Russian timber industry. I'm sure hoping a FS LEO... or former FS LEO... will round up the militia to come protect my house. The location is perfect... we can line the women up along the ridge for protection.

Mr Bundy was perfectly willing, and did indeed pay his grazing fees to the State of NV which then returned those fees paid back to him. He did so because he didnt believe the BLM nor the "desert tortoise" LIES they issued.

yes, this logic is the reason that a lot of Mr. Anderson's clients have decided that they will pay the fees that they owe him, to nearby NV charities, because they feel that they are more deserving than Mr. Anderson.

And after all, they are Constitutionally Protected to pay owed fees to whomever they feel like paying. Freedom is so wonderful!

People can rationalize all sorts of reasons when they are itching for an armed stand off against the Feds. They have been hoarding guns and ammo, and now they have an opportunity to prove they were right for doing it. It has happened over and over again.

Self fullfilling proficy at it's worst. I sure hope this one does not come true.

Email update from the Burns Brigade.

Tonight's meeting is at the Carson City KFC at 6:00. Ron will be bringing his .22 revolver for a circle jerk, and the subject for discussion is: "Tax Time! Paying your federal taxes to state authorities". Additionally, Ron's Gun Shop is now open and they have the right to refuse service to anyone who is not white.

I have to agree with some... Ron does get picked on A LOT... more than most... possibly more than he deserves? Sometimes it makes me sad, like when the athletically challenged kid is forced to play sports and fails. But Ron does bring it upon himself.

He chooses to play and apparently refuses to think through the sh#t he believes/types. So laugh in amusement and be thankful he is not on your team, but don't forget Rons have feelings too... and at least he isn't a chuffhole.

now you're really over the top.
At Rejkyavik (sp?) Gorby and Reagan behaved like intelligent human beings. Both of them against the advice of their more militaristic advisors (excluding George Schulz). They shook hands, looked each other in the eye and agreed that nuclear war was unthinkable; they were obligated and politically able to bring the world down from the brink.
Gorbachev got the Nobel Peace Prize. Reagan got some redemption in a lot of people's minds. They shared responsibility for bringing down the Berlin wall.
But hey, history doesn't seem to appeal to you.

and did indeed pay his grazing fees to the State of NV which then returned those fees paid back to him
Aww the sweet state of Nevada returned the fees. How American. This really proves that the Feds are completely screwed up. How much weed have you smoked today?

The State of Nevada (in some accounts it was Clark County, perhaps it was both) returned (or more likely refused) fees they weren't legally allowed to accept anyway. Just one more example of the long sad chain of Bundy's obstinate idiocy.
He has been digging his own grave for 20 years and still keeps on digging.
Poor deluded man. The unfortunate thing is the Whackos have turned him into a cause celebre further enabling his delusions. And causing no end of trouble and expense for the US Citizens who actually are proud of obeying the law. Speaking of being pawns of a political agenda, Breitbart, Hannity, Beck AND the "militias", etc are using Bundy. He is their toady.
