Dingus is talking about the new WTC. I saw the same show last night. Pretty amazing. A new type of concrete with just rebar, no large steel trusses in the core, to make a building 1776 feet high. There is a glass curtain around the base.

Example:

yeah i saw part of that show too. larger staircases for emergency egress as well within that concrete structure. i thik that they said it should withstand the blast from a truck bomb too.
through the history of engineering it should be obvious (and a great understatement) to say that engineers are not infallible. and the design/construct of the WTC was a landmark acheivement for its time. but alas, it was not constructed to withstand the hit from a jet airliner and the subsequent conflageration.

Just remember guys like monolith doesn't know sh'it.
He believes the official version and Googles to support that hypotheses.
In the end it's still only theory and hypothesis and not the actual truth.
Just the same for the other side of the fence.
There's guys around that know the real deal independent of those sides ......

They were planted there by the Swiss army because the road was judged strategically important; in the event of invasion it would have been blown up..... the Lucerne example is not unusual. There are in fact hundreds of strategic roads, tunnels and bridges in Switzerland which conceal permanent stores of explosives.
So, hey, sure, maybe, right? It would sure add a new facet to the big picture of the post-Cold War legacy.

Leslie Robertson, structural engineer designer of WTC, didn't have much confidence his building would survive the fire:
I can tell you I was just thinking about the people in the building. I mean I just hoped that the buildings would stand I had no way of knowing that they would or would not.

Not to model fires in a highrise. Imagine how many cards and tapes that would take.
Simulations involve way more data and computation power then putting a few numbers into a trajectory equation.
I'll go with Leslie Robertson, Rox. He was not sure the building would stand when he watched them burn.
