It was some time ago I heard about Tim Ball. Ron is really good at finding the real experts on climate change. Have you found Milloy yet?

Lots of cool info about Venus and its atmosphere here:

http://lasp.colorado.edu/~bagenal/1010/SESSIONS/14.TerrPlanAtmos.html

"Not only does VENUS have more atmosphere then EARTH, but it is nearly all CO2--a green house gas--while Earth's atmosphere is mostly N2 with only a small amount of CO2. Hence, Venus is much hotter than Earth."

EDIT: link does not work. Doh. Well, here's a photo showing the winds:

This Hubble Space Telescope ultraviolet-light image of the planet Venus was taken on January 24, 1995. At ultraviolet wavelengths cloud patterns become distinctive. From previous missions, astronomers know that such features travel east to west along with the Venus' prevailing winds, to make a complete circuit around the planet in four days. (Credit: L. Esposito, University of Colorado, Boulder, and NASA)

What Ball said is actually what IS happening. Models dont match reality. Simple really. And the premeditation for those models is now obvious.

How would you know? You cant even read a page about EPA with totally misrepresenting what they said. How could you be able to understand the output from any model?

No actually that figures strongly in this Fort. NOT ONE person can claim superiority over ma nature. And without EXACT input from natural occurrence and the values they represent, no model will come close.

So a model needs to be able to predict something exactly to be useful?

You guys are bashing US for nonsense posts ROFLMAO!!!

Yes, because your posts are nonsense.

I asked you a question. You can always answer it if you want to have a discussion.

Yes Ray Models should NOT BE PREMEDITATED .. There is your answer.

It is not an answer to my question.

And they should at minimum,, reflect the reality up to the current date as well..

A little closer to an answer but still not. So once again. Do a model be able to predict something exactly to be useful?

The reports SAYS thats its "likely" for year round shrinking of sea ice..

Good gaaarief i guess they havent seen that BOTH ends of the globe are building ice as i type. And have been all year...

You really have no idea what they mean with that. Not strange though when you managed to completely misrepresent an easy to understand page about EPA. Variability and trends is two concepts you don't understand at all.

How could someone discuss the world or science with you when you don't understand anything at all?

I didn't believe that anyone actually believed that a rise in sea extent one single year really meant anything important. That someone really could miss that the data has many such events even though the trend clearly is decreasing. I was wrong.

I believe that your posts gives a clue about your IQ.

Lets try posing the question one more time.

Consider a model. The model makes a prediction, for example temperatur or force or number of polar bears.

Do the prodiction need to be exact for the model to be useful?

My point is that no models are exact but that they can be useful anyway. It is really important to understand that.

So the mainstream scientists made predictions that said that the arctic would be ice free this year? Are you sure that the predictions regarding the arctic sea ice didn't turn out quite well?

Your argument regarding the arctic sea ice extent just make you look stupid. You need to look at the trend and not a single year.

Sketch tries to make a point, but falls flat on his (her?) face. Here, let me help show you why:

The problem with addressing this issue is the chicken-little hysterics overplayed their hands.

Actually, things are deterioriating faster than all but their worst-case models.

Bzzzzt... WRONG #1.

Back in the 90s and early on in the noughts, there were a lot of predictions about gloom and doom, right around the corner. Tipping point and ice-free Arctic were common talking points.

Take a look at last-years weather catastrophes. There are many world-wide, including record droughts, floods, storms, temperatures out of whack and breaking both hot and cold records, etc. You're a fool if you think you're actually talking fact here.

Bzzzzt... WRONG #2.

And then rising temps took a breather.

Ten states had recording-breaking temps in 2012, and that's just looking at the USA.See for yourself:

http://www.climatecentral.org/news/2012-record-temperatures-which-states-led-the-nation-14951

So again, you are full of misinformation, and trying to pass it off as fact.

Bzzzzt... WRONG #3.

Global warming stopped.

Says who??? FOX News?? Again, what a complete fool. Take a look at AR5. Boy, do you look silly now.

Bzzzzt... WRONG #4.

So the hysterics said the short term doesn't matter. "Weather is not climate." So we waited. Now, the record shows no warming for at least fifteen years. So they switched focus, talking about heat absorption by the oceans.

Yes, research showed just how the oceans are absorbing f*#kin' LOADS of heat. Not a problem for you though, right? Because hey, doesn't everybody like to swim in warm water?

Bzzzzt... WRONG #5.

Sketch, isn't it time you go play with boys and girls your own age? We're trying to have an adult conversation here...

The hysterics preached about a horrific future and demonized non-believers.

Their predictions haven't panned out. They've been back-pedaling and moving the goal posts for over decade.

Now they look like schmucks.

Funny how people who listen to FOX News and try to pass of their crap science look like idiots to people who actually know how to read and think. If you could read, take a look at AR5, you might just see how you appear to be a total idoit schumck to folks who aren't lead by the nose from propaganda.

Bzzzzt... WRONG #6.

Over and out, you're gone.

Ray - Which models have accurately forecasted global temps over the last 15 years? From what I've read, none of the CHIP5 models accurately predicted temps. They all predicted higher temps. Epic Fail.

I don't know but I guess that you have looked at the predictions together with confidence intervals?

What about the arctic? Did they predict an ice free arctic 2013?

Sketch and his EPIC fail at downplaying the climate. Here, read this, then try to say that the warming took a breather:

Summary

The summer of 2012 has been one for the record books in the lower 48 states. On the heels of the country’s warmest-ever spring, several record-breaking June and July heat waves kept the Southwest, Midwest and Atlantic Coast sweltering. July went on to become the all-time warmest month on record for the country. In fact, 2012 to-date has been the hottest year for the U.S. since instrument records began in 1895, and the summer was the third warmest summer on record.

The record-breaking heat has affected nearly every part of the country at some point this year, ...

Ron, yes, since time began things have happened. Usually over many, many years or centuries. Nobody doubts that.

But what we're talking about is change faster than can be attributed to organic change. In other words, man is forcing the change.

But you're smart and you already knew that, right? I mean, you're just arguing here to be the devil's advocate, cause otherwise I feel sorry for any adult who might be as challenged as one who doesn't understand that after reading this thread for over a year.

Then, STFU, because children should be seen and not heard.
