But not peep about Bill Clinton who did NOTHING in Bosnia and the Congo and kept us out of those two quamires. All the while well over 2.2 million if not more were slaughtered in both of those of those countries combined.

Jesus, The Chief, how far back do you want me to go with my politics? I didn't raise the issue of Bill Clinton because the subject - one you raised and I didn't - was George Bush.

Amazingly, I do not remember he ever demanding that we take in large scale amounts of the millions of displaced refugees in a show of compassion from either nation.

Talk about partisan bullshet on your part.

So, in responding to a subject that you raised (how people are going to blame George Bush), my comments are "partisan bullshit" because I didn't discuss Bill Clinton?

Uh yeah, I get it.

See why people think you're such an idiot?

I almost joined the Navy (I was interviewing to become a pilot, but I passed the California bar exam first try, so I went that route). I think it's a great service. But the fact that you're a Navy vet? Man, what did you or they do wrong.

Think straight would you please?

And yes, as a pilot I would have been an officer, so now, 30 years later I must be full of "partisan bullsh#t." Oh, and I'm a lawyer too. Attack me on that now. Don't forget!

The Clinton administrations collaboration with the military efforts worked.

And how many Muslims were slaughtered through ethnic cleansing up until Clinton finally succumbed to the UN's pressure to get involved? How many 100's of 1000's of innocent women and children were killed at the hands of Serbian "Scorpion" death squads?

How about the Rwandan Genocide Couchmaster. Not a single shade of help from then POTUS Clinton. Not one.

Solve as they see fit the problems that the civilians sent them to go fix without them civilians that haven't any first hand clue as to what is needed to fix it. Makes logical sense to me.

But apparently not you, MTNyoung.

The Chief, we have a great military. But it is a military. Sometimes solutions to world problems aren't military solutions.

We the American people have decided that civilian leaders will determine whether a military solution will be used in a particular situation. Is the Constitution wrong?

Come on, The Chief, here's your chance. The words you're struggling to type are these:

Yes, mtnyoung (all small case, BTW), it was pretty inconsistent - in fact it was totally off subject - of me to raise the issue of Bill Clinton and Bosnia, when I am the one who brought up George Bush.

Here's the passage above that you'll be responding to:

But not peep about Bill Clinton who did NOTHING in Bosnia and the Congo and kept us out of those two quamires. All the while well over 2.2 million if not more were slaughtered in both of those of those countries combined.

Priceless.

So please do tell us how diplomacy will work with these fkers....

EDIT:

Not quite, but close.

GW is a piece of shet and Obama is doing a great job.

Maybe that has something to do with my comment.

"Jesus, The Chief, how far back do you want me to go with my politics? I didn't raise the issue of Bill Clinton because the subject - one you raised and I didn't - was George Bush.

So there is now a statue of limitations as to how POTUS's handled slaughterous thugs in the past. Got it.

I suppose you believe Jimmy Carter handled the Iranian Crises in a valid and great manner as well.

Any dumb sh#t can tell you that diplomacy won't work on these people.

I think even you have managed to figure that out.

It won't work; period. There's no functional difference between the way these pukes act and the way the German SS acted in WWII.

But you skated over the question again The Chief. Try to focus.

I never said that diplomacy would work with ISIS. Never.

I did ask a simple question of you though. Here, I'll repeat it:

We the American people have decided that civilian leaders will determine whether a military solution will be used in a particular situation. Is the Constitution wrong?

I really do NOT think that the American People are happy with and feel as you do about Obama and the manner in which he has handled this, problem.

This is back in February. Can only imagine how the "American People" feel now after the latest events. Especially after his bullshet about having "ISIS contained."

Washington (CNN)Americans are increasingly unhappy with President Barack Obama's handling of ISIS, and a growing share of the nation believes that fight is going badly, according to a new CNN/ORC survey released Monday.

The CNN/ORC poll found 57% of Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling the threat posed by ISIS, a significant decline in support for the President over the past few months. In late September, that number was 49%.

Fifty-seven percent disapprove of his handling of foreign affairs more broadly, and 54% disapprove of how the President is handling terrorism. Another 60% rate Obama negatively on his handling of electronic national security.

The declining approval ratings for Obama on national security come as a weekend of international turmoil further underscores the growing threats abroad.

And BTW, The Chief, didn't you take an oath to uphold that same Constitution when you joined the Navy?

I'll repeat the question, this time with a preface:

Should we cut the military lose to solve the problem as it sees fit?

You answered my question, thanks.

I disagree with you on what the American people want.

In my view the American people want two things on this subject (and they cannot have them both).

 American soldiers out of harm's way (the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan became very, very unpopular for a reason);

 A quick and easy solution.

The West (the US included) may make some critical decisions about how to engage these as#@&%es. Until they do, I want no US soldiers put into harm's way with little ability to do anything.

(And yes, I'm willing - like I have a choice - to let that exact type of decision be made by the various civilian leaders of the Western world - do we as a "civilized society" modify the rules of engagement so that we have a serious chance of putting a stop to this).

Yup. And when we the people feel it's time to act accordingly and the civilian leaders ignore us, well, the constitution has some pretty harsh verbiage concerning that. Does it not, MTNYOUNG.

Not that I know of.

We can vote them out. I like that option, it's civilized.

But I don't know of any other provision in the US Constitution that lets us act in a certain way if our elected leaders ignore us. Enlighten me?

1. France has welcomed these terrorists into their country for years.
2. France has always played nice, i.e., be nice to them and they will be nice to us.
3. France has some pretty stiff gun laws.

My question is, how did this happen in France?

1. The Paris attacks were home-grown not recent immigrants.

2. France actually does a horrible job of integrating immigrants. They tend to be segrated out in slums in the surburbs that have no jobs and little public transport to get them to jobs and employers tend not to hire them anyway. Young muslim males in France have something like 40+% unemployment rate. Even with the Tea Party, I think the US is actually nicer and more willing to hire.

3. I heard that the guns actually came from Belgium?

So... its simply a question of... who is going to seize control of that oil. With a promised 150k Russian troops to be deployed, its patently obvious who will end up with the oil control, unless, what?

What will stop them?

We arm the Kurds and keep Russia out of Kurdistan. The Kurds actually seem pretty reasonable in the context of that part of the world. (For instance, my understanding is they are tolerant of Christian refugees from other parts of Syria.) Kurdistan has quite a bit of the oil.

Russia can put in 150k troops and have the rest of that forsaken piece of desert.

1. The Paris attacks were home-grown not recent immigrants.

Technically speaking, not true.

BRUSSELS — Once a happy-go-lucky student at one of Brussels’ most prestigious high schools, Abdelhamid Abaaoud morphed into Belgium’s most notorious jihadist, a zealot so devoted to the cause of holy war that he recruited his 13-year-old brother to join him in Syria.

The child of Moroccan immigrants who grew up in the Belgian capital’s scruffy and multiethnic Molenbeek-Saint-Jean neighbourhood, the fugitive, in his late 20s, was identified by French authorities on Monday as the presumed mastermind of the attacks last Friday in Paris that killed 129 people and injured hundreds.

BTW: The above photo of Abdelhamid was taken in Syria during one of his 2014 ISIS "tactical" training trips and after returning was convicted and imprisoned for robbery and abduction. He also had a record of terrorist activities.

This bit of info is rather disturbing as well....

In 2014, independent journalists Étienne Huver and Guillaume Lhotellier visited the Syria–Turkey border, where they obtained photos and video of Abaaoud's time in Syria. One portion of this material showed Abaaoud and others loading bloody corpses into a truck and trailer before Abaaoud grinned and told the camera: "Before we towed jet skis, motorcycles, quad bikes, big trailers filled with gifts for vacation in Morocco. Now, thank God, following God's path, we're towing apostates, infidels who are fighting us.

The Chief,

Are you really that ignorant, or is it just a clever troll?

Your post above said:

The operative words you chose to use were : "and the civilian leaders ignore us."

And you quote to me parts of the Constitution about "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors?"

Explain to me please (in plain English) how leaders "ignoring us" amounts to Treason, Bribery or other high Crimes or Misdemeanors."

And then explain to me who "us" is. "We the people" don't share one opinion (can I say it? DUH!).

Well, you have to remember this country isn't founded under the constitution, but rather a "perpetual Union" under the Articles of Confederation ( article 13). That was the legal basis for not allowing secession by states during the civil war.

The constitution is just a empowerment of a form of government under the articles of confederation, and the ratification of the constitution did not end the perpetual Union.

Article 10 of that document allow a committee of the 13 founding states to run the government by a vote of the representatives of 9 of those when congress isn't in session. Think of it as a sort of back door time bomb against government overreaching.

When ISIS does hit us, and god forbid their attacks are not as grave as they say they will be, do you not believe that the current POTUS will be up for Art II Section 4 for his ineptness to "contain" them, totally "ignoring" the peoples cries to keep us safe from them and then ultimately allow them to attack us here on our own soil?

Never mind Mtnyoung, it will be GW's fault according to you and the few others.
