Yeah Bob, come to think of it he did...That's why I was giving it the benefit of the doubt...Yeah Ron, Yerian called me and told me he was down there at Lynne's, it was great talking to him again! We had alot to catch up on and some words about our pal JB's passing...

Allied Climbers of San Diego.....held a meeting Tuesday night and discussed the Woodson Reunion.

On left, darling Keli our secretary, across Jeff Brown, CEO and right front, Gary McCay (our own illusion dweller.)

Woodson Reunion or Bust......right to left are Kelly and Ron Gomez, Gary McCay and Dave Yerian.

Hey Gary, sorry to crash your reverie, but I've got a few facts to go along that photo. It's Deerhorn, not Woodson. The blonde guy on the right, offering a typical spot for the era, is BeeHay. BVB was just flapping his gums about Woodson, offering up a little disinformation to troll the masses.

Wlid Turkey, gonamok, now what kind of name is that? I should report you to Mighty Hiker. Just kidding. That's an mpressive list. By the way, the Painted Boulder's original hard route was called Goeddel's move - as in, Dave Goeddel.

Hey MIKE! Great you and Dave talked, going out with Yerian this weekend to check out this "secret area", REALLY looking forward to getting on the rock again and hanging with my brother Dave. Glad you got to talk to him about JB, Dave has been, along with Kelly, a BIG help in helping me through this oh so tough time dealing with John's death. My offer still stands, you have a place to hang at WHEN you come down for the Woodson deal. It won't be the same without you. If you have some slides or dvd of BITD bring it with you, along with a copy of yer Mom's book!
Peace Brother
Hope yer well

I'm pretty sure people call it 12a these days which is a big bag of sand. That's interesting you guys called it 12+ Definitely hard. I'm finding that you need to get your fingers in the right locks in order to move through the crux well. And it's crazy how important your feet are on this one. I had to pretty much "hug" the rock with my feet to keep myself on.
A solo would be proud!

Edit: Thanks for the work put in to clear out the base of this one. I tried it a while back and the crux at that time was hiking through the manzanita.

oh and my 2 pennies on I would die for you...I called it hard 11+, whatever that means. And a note on pruneface - one of the best highball face climbs on the hill for my money...Fry's guide shows michael on the "first ascent" credited to shawn curtis - nah. I spotted MP on the FA and backed off myself. The next day Rick Allenby and I and MP did the second (3rd, 4th in that order). It is a horror show for short n squat types like myself, but what a line.

Nice shot of Epperson; not just a talented photographer who helped change the game of climbing photography, the man could crank too.
