LOL, about 6 weeks later, Mark. Cheers.
4th ascent Curving Vine on the Diamond.
Everything's cool till the crux fifth.
I get 25' up and simultaneous to the storm suddenly spilling over the top of the peak and opening up, the nut I'm on pulls and I hit my belayer's shoulder with one of my boots.
Did a 50m ropestretcher in the storm with ice water running down my sleeves and neck.
Wall climbing lets you find what you're made of.
Character building.

Tried to solo Prodigal Son. I was moving kind of slow, had done about 3 aid pitches ever prior to that, and totally under-estimated how much work it is to lead, rap, jug/clean, haul.
Yet, I still caught the two-man party above me by p3. After hanging around the belay for a while and realizing these n00bs were even slower than my n00b azz, I started up p4, and they were moving even slower. Called it and bailed right before dark. Since my free climbing partner had my car and neither of us had cell phones, I bivied on the flats down by the river, crossed it the next morning (fell in once...full haulbag and high river flowsm, ice cold = suck)and sat around the pullout waiting for him to show.
Got it done on the 2nd attempt a few months later.
