Ya gotta filter the chaff to get to the kernel.

I feel this is way more difficult for women than men, due to what Lucky Pink said - women tend to have less of an agenda when it comes to climbing.

True or not?

It is all interesting stuff... You can climb with a dedicated, fantastic climber and you will get the chance to belay him at all his favorite locations but... When you want to go climb something, it just won't happen.

You can also climb with a great climbing partner, but your relationship turns from love birds into sibling rivalry.

You can also become useless after some strange illness and end up never climbing, talking too much and wishing you could get a grip on yourself. Now that is fun.

I say that the best is being able to climb with friends. I would give up the whole love on the rocks thing and be happy that you are climbing, breathing, etc.

hahaha Jameson shots all around..

Listen you guys, this actually took place. A guy I was once dating got quite frustrated with me.. told me that in my love of the outdoor experiences I was just a Gollum obsessed with the Ring, that I would never be satisfied with that illusion I was chasing in the wilderness, that I was not paying enough attention to him or his love for me and that I had best quit it and come to my senses so I could love him better.

guess how far that went.
