Wayne, I could probably do a trip sometime in the next 2 - 3 weeks, but the sooner it was scheduled, the better. Sunday or Monday nights are plausible.
It may be better to try for a Sunday or Monday in mid-January, but let people know by the beginning of December, so they can plan. That is, for the full-scale gathering. Hopefully you'll have smaller groups visit, but sadly I can't get down there every week, and other out-of-towners probably have the same challenge.

We don't want no stinkin' furriners at our get-together anyway. Maybe we'll alert the Customs and Border Protection thugs about you and all your damn liberal atheist pinko gay socialist ideas so when you try to cross the border they'll throw you in...
Oh... Wait... If the get-together is held after 20 January you and your progressive thoughts will be welcome in this multicultural friendly pluralistic country...
This is so confusing.

We could do a small thing soon and possibly discuss the full blown version that I'de like to do in January. Let me discuss it with my entertainment coordinator(the wife), and I'll figure out a date. I'll also want to clean up the house a bit, and that is never fun. A little beer wine and snacks never hurt anyone.
David, thanks for taking a washed-up climber trying to get back into things to his first outing at a climbing gym. Fifty years old and never been to a gym. I still don't know much about cams, cordalettes and crashpads, but who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Btw, David makes an excellent brew. It was an IPA wasn't it?

Ok, I just send out PM's to all the CC.com pub-clubbers with the info.
They want to rumble, apparently!
Edit: Oh, wait - that was just the Tacoma contingency - my Bad.

Sorry guys, but I have been a bit busy. I still would like to do this. I was having dinner with Ghost last week and we discussed some of the details and as long as it doesn't cause too much grief it should be a go. I would really like to meet some of you clowns. I can get use of Angelo's facilities but I'm still wondering what kind of food and cost and timing. Does a Sunday sound good to everyone? Do we want a nice dinner or just apps and some drinks? Should I charge people and how much? I can handle any kind of food, but I'd rather have help with collecting money and such. I would only take enough to cover food costs and donate any surplus to the Ouch fund, whatever that is. Once again, I would like to know how many can commit. I could get chapped if I made a bunch of food and people didn't show or more people show than I plan for. Other than that, how about in a month or so?
Edit- Those CC.com Pubnubs ain't got nothin on us Taco from hell boys and girls. Bring em on.

Hey with 4 months and 90 posts discussing the topic how about we just pick a pub in Seattle and drop in this week, as a start?
This thread looks so painful it reminds me of my first attempts on El Cap :)

Dane, go for it. You pick the pub. I will respectfully bow out. I merely had an idea of how I could share my talents and access to a restaurant to provide more than just a drinkfest amongst a pub full of strangers, but if that's how you want it, I have no qualms. I'm Italian and have always enjoyed getting together around food with the drinking only secondary, but that's me. As I said before, I'm kinda busy but also patient.

Wayno dinner and company sounds really fun. Steve has mentioned sushi in the International district as well. I'm trying to get some alpine climb in this week and certainly am no drinker.
But as a start how about setting a date (soon) at some local place (resturant or bar) you know can (or someone knows) hold a few of us and we just all show up?
Easy to do out here but a drag for anyone in town to get here.
I'm willing just short on time this week.

I was also thinking about some people who might want to come from out of town(Canada and Eastern WA) and make it worth their trip. I offered Angelo's because we could get a banquet room and I could get a deal on the food. I personally don't care too much for sushi, so if that's what people want, someone else can organize the thing and I'll be happy to join in. Otherwise I will pick March 15, at Angelo's in Bellevue for food and drink. Start in the late afternoon and go till we get tired. I have keys and can close the place. I have been thinking about Kevin Rose and Allie and would really like to have them there and toast to the memory of their dearly departed and all the dearly departed that are mentioned on this forum. That's how I got on this forum in the first place.

I'd be up for meeting in Bellevue on the 15th. It'd be great to meet some of you folks face to face!
(BTW--It's Saturday the 14th)

Saturday March 14th or Sunday March 15th are both possibles, and I'll keep them open. Maybe other Vancouverites will carpool? Though I'd like to make a weekend of it, with an adventure or two if possible.

It would have to be Sunday, the 15th. Too much going on at the restaurant on Saturday. Anders, invite any of those gracious Canadians I met at the Memorial. I'd love to return the hospitality.
