Wish I was gonna make it.
We had dinner tonight@ Tatsu sushi on Ygnacio in Walnut Creek, a very good place, think. Though it was against my own judgement my sis-law ordered spider roll.
It was a good one,
but,
Nature's spider roll(vintage indian creek 11/07) has spoiled me for all others...

The long awaited photos:
PapaJoto and I went out to Diablo Canyon last sunday. Here's a little Trip report.
We warmed up on Naked Lunch - a 140' 5.10
While Papahoto did his lead I listened to tunes
Long route
One person leads and fixes their cord. They wrap and the other person leads on another cord and then raps with both cords
Ms. Summit wondering what the fuss is all about
Home of SFSF IV:XX. It's about 15 miles away from our place. The dirt road is very drivable in most vehicles. Tons of camping. Shot taken from base of naked lunch
Then we wandered over the the cave.
PapaJoto put the rope up on a 12a for me to TR (which I sent twice)
Before he dogged his way up a 12d (which he'll send next time)
There's about 150 routes in the area. The range from moderate to hard. Two and three pitches, etc. etc. good fun climbing and will suffice for a weekend of sushi and climbing.

Hope you all have a good time and sorry I will miss this one. Will be in Panama with my wife....looking for some land and birding.
I went to college in Santa Fe and this is one of the first areas that I climbed at back in the early 70's...the name was Buckman Mesa and we did a number of crack lines in the canyon...it lay doormat still I think the early 90's when some new blood hit the area. Cool spot...hope you all have time and enjoy the culture and beauty that is northern NM...a really special place.
If you looking to do some hiking I heard there is a great hiking guide to the area by this guy named D'Antonio...check it out.

Lots of route beta for this area on mountainproject.com. Like said above, a wide variety of trad and sport ranging from vertical to very steep with a good handfull of stellar splitters(some crappy cracks too) and some airy multi pitch. Lots of easier grades (10's) can be found at the Coxcomb crag a little ways down the wash. The two giudes for the area are the Falcon NM and the Jemez guide. Neither are totally up to date but have the general gist. Most updates are on mountianproject.com.
by the way, after you are through with the weekend, go home because we are not used to having crowds and like it that way. Thank you

It's too bad Russ Walling isn't making the sushifest. The Wide ™ is his forte' . I think Papajoto wants the second ascent of Airbus.
Looks like Burning Barn will rise from the ashes and play this sushifest!
