My first valley climb was in 89 or 90. So if you started after that then you have to stop climbing. If you started before that you're probably even older than I am, haha. Otherwise your younger and more experienced than me and then I'm f*cked, I'm old AND I have to stop climbing. ;-)

The problem is people want to do what they love for a living. So they start companies that sell climbing stuff, guide clients, publish topos (bastards ;-) and that get's more people into the sport.
The good news is that about only 1% of the poplulation is crazy enough to climb. And even though it's getting more crowded it really still isn't that bad yet. Picture 50 or 100 years from now. It will get to the point where there will be a lottery system to climb the Nose, like the current system for permits to raft through the Grand Canyon. Even then there will still be the rule: the farther away from the road you are the more of a wilderness experience you will have.

"But as far as the mtn shop, their all way cool to me, and there's this one chick... she's pretty hot. Hey Melissa, maybe you could hook me up with her :)"
She helped me find the only windstopper fleece in the store when they were having their big sale last year, but that's all I know about her. Your on your own, Doug!

"The Shop is rad because they have any climbing stuff you could ever want in the valley"
They don't carry bolting gear, do they? (Or are you not supposed to want that in the valley?)
Overall though, I've been pretty happy with the mountain shop.
