Hey Buster,
no, I'll be home that weekend but you should head out to the desert when it cools off. Maybe climb that thing that Charlie called "the Cerro Torre of the desert" again.

"All those years have also led me to disagree with JL's thought that nothing is ever really lost. The fact is that in death, a huge amount is lost. Perhaps spiritually you can construct a theory in which this is not true but the loss is nonetheless palpable and one of the most significant aspects of life, love, and existence. "
Now I have the attention span of a gnat, but I have to say I don't think about life's experiences as held or lost - I think of them more as a moment of experience that is your's to either appreciate or not and then it flows on past us. I can't even get my head around the idea of holding on to or losing such a thing - I can only imagine living them or not. Maybe I could manage to live life more fully at any given moment, but I know I've already lived more than I could ever have hoped and that it's all gravy from here on out. Lose them in or to death? For me I don't lose the past, only the possibility of more of the same in the future.
Is that a loss in it's own right? No doubt, but I think you have to treasure what we've had and let go of the idea there was somehow more to come we've been cheated out of. Harder to do than to say when it comes to loved ones and cherished friends, but it is one way to acknowledge and value the passage of our own time in this world.

I retract my post from 2 weeks ago.
Woke up yesterday and I'm hobbeling around
because of some weird right knee pain.
Laid around and watched tv, there was
a History Channel 2 hour program called "Hippies"
and the first commercial, no kidding,
"Hippies-brought to you by the AARP!
Can you stand it?

hey beehay, i just talked it over with the dominatrix and all she wants to know is do you want her to wear her "french maid" outfit or her "80's lycra crag hottie" outfit.
oh yeah -- the other catch was she wants to run timed laps with you on jaws. for pink slips.
