1. Calling Ms Colter a "conservative commentator" seems a bit like calling bull-crap well, fertilizer. Ann Coulter is filled with hate, she spews hate and, it seems, thinks only hate. She's one of the few political figures in our county's current discourse that really is evil (and, apogee, I know it was just something you copy/pasted - my comment isn't necessarily directed at you).
I don’t know that you can say she isn’t conservate. She might not be what we thought the prototypical conservative was for the last 40-50 years. But, the nativist/racist wing of conservatism, which other conservatives have played patty cake with but ultimately, kept at a distance, have always been present and now call the shots.

These black eyes (not just one, but two) that Trump received yesterday are a prime example of his juvenile lack of political experience. His populist approach was just that- rile up the population- but his actual vision and ability to enact his agenda via smart politicking has been non-existent from the start.
Still, people are people, and his base will be easily rallied with just the right words- more carefully chosen this time, if Trump has any functioning brain.
There's an opportunity for the GOP to really turn this around on the Dems going forward on the issue of immigration and border security- Dems have been more resistant to touch the issue that Repubs for a long time, as its more likely alienate a significant part of their voters. They are on record now as saying that they would approach this issue only after the gov't has been re-opened- Pelosi is going to have to show some kind of effort towards addressing this problem. I hope she goes further with it than the AOC idealists would be comfortable with.

The Wall Street Journal had an article today on understanding what 5.7 billion dollars actually equates to.
They write $14.00 per every man, woman, & child in the U.S.
I did my own calculation based on the IRS figure for 2017 tax returns, which is 251,046,000 returns.
Divide that into $5,700,000,000 & I end up with approx. $22.70 per taxpayer. So, Heidi & I would get to pay $45.40 for Trump's proposed wall.
It ain't worth that to me.
Any conservatives on here cool with paying that amount in taxes for your Presidents magnificent folly??

Whaddya think he might do when the Mueller report comes out?
There might not be a mueller report. The AG might suppress or sanitize it. But I don’t think mueller is putting all his eggs in the report basket. The way these indictments are worded, he’s leaving enough open for the Southern District and NYState to follow up on even if he gets canned.
And there will be enough for the house to impeach. All that has to happen is for “individual 2” to be Don Jr. and the game is over.

That's OUR President, because that's how this game works.
And I'm a lot better with that use of the money than just handing it to some welfare queen, who is just going to squander it on breeding yet again.
Or on some corporate tax subsidy or bail-out.
Or on another $100 toilet seat for the MIC.
You know, there's more waste than you can even imagine. This one's pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Some guy took a leap of faith today, while I was sitting at the Pilot in Quartzsite.
Fox News was on, something about *the wall,* and he turns to a stranger next to him and makes some comment about how DT just wants the wall so he can get a kickback from whoever he hires to build it. I was ready to hear a Trump soundboard repeater, but the guy actually was speechless. He stuttered something unintelligible and walked away.
To someone else, he said "You know, every prison on this country has a border wall, with armed guards watching it. Yet drugs still get into the prisons. The guards are bribed. Why would anyone think it's any different getting drugs passed the border?"
That just seemed to make too much sense. The person just agreed, but also got up and left.

Yeah. Single mother of three girls who was divorced by her husband who ran away with his secretary.
Both were white college grads. He was a PhD professor.
She eventually became president of NARAL.
