Yeah- regardless of "statistics:- anywhere within a day's drive- I'd personally drive. Cheaper and probably faster. Quality time with the daughter a bonus of course. Airports are probably a PIA right now with knee-jerk heightened security in effect.

I'd do the drive over flyin.
I agree, I'll take a roadtrip over a plane ride any day. Flying is a PITA nowdays.

Thanks Reilly. I had a gut feeling, that if things were bad, at least I'd be on the ground with my daughter.

Just a trace of rainfall here so far. Snow melting steadily with the mid forties temps. So far, it appears that between the rainfall in the California lowlands and the wringing effect of the Sierra the clouds are dry by the time they get here. Will keep my fingers crossed about the longer forecast but keep the sand bags at ready.

The foot of snow I had yesterday is now reduced to 3" of slush amid temps in the low 50's and a steady moderate rain since early am. NO flooding yet, but the Truckee is supposed to crest from early evening to early am tomorrow at 21.2', flooding industrial areas near the river in Reno and Sparks. How's conditions in your neck of the woods guys?

^^I'm not sure what this was meant to accomplish, exactly.
Also, thunder and lightning here overnight.

Paiute Creek has diverted to the road bed. Going upstream to see if I can get it back into channel. If I can't the road will soon be history.

I've got The Simpson's style blue sky with some white clouds down in SoCal. But we did have a few days of light rainfall that was nice.
Edit: ^^^ sounds gnarly... good luck.

Unsuccessful in getting the above pictured portion of the creek back into its channel. The previous days of sub zero temps have the soils frozen harder than Concrete. Bent my pick axe trying to dig a channel.

I went down for my nap at around one.
Now I find the skies turned Noachian,
It's not miraculous, just predictable.
It's time to be practical, logical,
It's time to go back to sleep,
Time to go lay with my sheep...
Tell me where is my lamb?
I can't sleep with out my lamb!
Please tell me where is my lamb?
