I see many patients with supposedly incurable back Px. Many have had every form of western diagnosis and have been told that surgery is their only option. That is true in some cases, but I find that chronic back Px responds well to gentle movment like Taiji, Qigong, Yoga etc.

In my experience, Chiropractic often exacerbates the problem, but acupuncture has great results. Unless there are actual structural issues, inflammation is the cause of most back Px. If you can reduce the inflammation the pain goes away. This is why Prednisone can work so well, as it reduces inflammation, but steroids can also have serious side effects.

I treat chronic Px on a daily basis with acupuncture, with great success

Good luck Cosmic. You have a base, a lifetime of activity, which can help you pull through.

Hey, Cosmic: So sorry about your Dad. With your back issues hanging over all that.... I lost my pops back when I was 39. It's a crazy hard experience. Hang in there. Best of luck with the Dr. and yer back. I've had issues over the years, some amazingly painful. Makes me worried about my old age. Keep us posted and celebrate the old man.

Sorry for your loss.

I am still lucky.... Dad and Mom both are still kicking the sand in Laguna Beach.

I do hope your back is getting better.
