Just saw this thread and then the test results and prognosis. Very sorry to hear this. But as Couchmaster aptly noted, we will all be following you soon enough. Can't help but admire your approaching this with the attitude of "keeping rolling along as always."
Sending my best wishes to you and Hilde. Both of you are awesome in my book.

No need for thanks, but appreciated. As I said hugging you...anytime you need help, just call. Absolutely meant it from the bottom of my heart. If it wasn't raining we would have finished, just we needed dry materials to work with. Glad Stahl finished up our mess! Was GUD to visit and help.
Like I said....just call.
Peace

Hilde,
You are very welcome. Deb sends her love as well. She will be out next time.
Ron and Jim did a lot of the work. I went ahead and ran all new pipe between the galvanized ends. Should be good to go.
If you guys need help with anything else, please let us know.
Rob and Deb
Edit:
BTW - Wendell and Andrew helped out as well. We checked the line and found a few more leaks, and they helped dig it up and demo the old stuff. Thanks Guys!

Thanks again for all the kind comments. Every little bit helps.
Here's the way I chose to handle things and my view on it. I have 2 choices:
1) I can lay around and feel sorry for myself, and not accomplish anything but look pathetic and annoy the sh#t out of everyone. That's not my way.
2) I can accept the unpleasant news and move as best as I can.
I chose #2. It's my way. I'm not thrilled about any of it, but I have handle this head on. I love it when my friends come up to visit. It's a real shot in the arm. I am sure as time goes on the more this will sink in. But it has already been a slap in the face. Oh well.
I won't lie to anyone, THIS SUCKS. But it is what it is. So here I be.
I would like to thank my wife Hilde. She has been there every step of the way. She has handled a MOUNTAIN of paper work. Taken care of all of the interactions with the Dr's to help push things through.
Again, you guys are all very supportive and I appreciate it.

I just had a message on Face Book that Robert is under comfort care in the hospital and may not be with us on this planet much longer. It also said he is not in pain and please do not try to visit. I so hope this is not true, oh how much I hope.
I am stunned, crying for my friend who has been such a friend to me. I thought this new drug was going to extend his life......
Can anyone here confirm that this is true? If it is, I am so hugging you in spirit and praying for you Hilde. Robert, love and peace and huge hugs.
God, please make this not true!

We were with Robert last weekend. He was starting Chemo and had a long time friend staying with him as well. Have not talked to him yet this weekend. Hope nothing got worse last week.

Lynne,
I Wish I could give all of you better news, but the facebook message is correct. It was written by Roberts two brothers Ted and John, and myself on behalf of Roberts closest family.
Thank you all for your kind comments and for your support for Robert and I.

I met Robert 9 years ago when he volunteered to teach a crack climbing clinic at a climbing event I managed in Joshua Tree. He gave all the participants free crack climbing gloves (cheating - ha!) and I received nothing but positive feedback from his group after the event - they loved him! He didn't get paid for this gig, but received a free rope and you would've thought he hit the jackpot. I know many friends that he has opened their home to in JT to camp while visiting the park and they all have spoken highly of him. Hilde, Kate and I send love and strength to you and Robert during this difficult time - please let me know if there is anything we can do - we are here for you.

Robert was a gracious host who allowed me to camp on the ranch he was tending during Bridwell Fest. My thoughts are with him and his loved ones.

Such a great person, so sad
Loved these photos that Pat Nay took at his ranch years ago so much that I saved them
