Phillip is a young climber, artist, and musician from Southern Illinois and quite talented at all three. Comes by them naturally by way of his parents (but not to say you haven't worked your ass off at all three either...).

Welcome to SuperTopo, Phillip - nice work above!

I like it All, props to you guys (glad to see the return of strong meadow narrative snapshots)!!

I attempted to drip like Jack but can't save it to share.

Maybe we should have some gallons of paint and drop cloth canvases @ the sushi fest? P-ron might prefer the WSB, shotgun painting techique. I'd get into that!

"Total Weight: 3,872 lbs each"

Better put that in all caps "OVERKILL"!

It sure looks nice. The woman next to it sure puts it in perspective. Any more specs? How did you cut it? Thickness of material? Powder coated?

Outsourced it all, except for the design and installation.

But yeah, plamsma cut 1" steel oval and letters, no powdercoating, supposedly powdercoating likes to chip off on really large runs...we hauled it into a spray booth at an autobody shop that specializes in painting semi's and sprayed it with the highest end auto paint and clear overcoat we could buy.

This guy wants me to do a 30' tall W for his next development, Times New Roman and brushed aluminum finish.

And no it's not W for Bush.

Fantastic stuff everyone!!!

I'm especially taken by Mattisse and Watusi. Are they fractals Watusi?

I've dabbled in pencil sketches from time to time. Some of them are drawn from climbing photos. You can see a few at my Webshots gallery...
