I think Cruz is a great candidate.
The only problem: he is not eligible to be President.
Not born in the US.
Father not US Citizen when Cruz born.
Was an actual Citizen of CANADA until about a year ago.

Regardless of one's political alignments, one cannot deny that Cruz is smart and accomplished.
Cruz graduated c#m laude from Princeton.
He won both the U.S. National Debating championship and the North American debating championship.
Cruz went on to Harvard Law School and graduated Magna C#m Laude.
He was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review and executive editor Of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.
At Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, hardly a right winger, said “Cruz was off –the-charts brilliant.”
Cruz went on to clerk for William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of The Supreme Court.
Cruz has authored 70 Supreme Court briefs, and argued nine cases before the Supreme Court.
Cruz has been named by American Lawyer magazine as one of the 50 Best Litigators under 45 in America, by The National Law Journal as one of the 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America.
Regarding the citizenship thing, he is a US citizen, being born to a mother who was a citizen. He moved into the US at age 4, so he meets the 14 year residency requirement. Some argue that there is a difference between a “natural born citizen” and a citizen. Hmm…
edit: Gotta love the ST censor deal.

Is it just me, or does Cruz's bio sort of read like Obama's? That seems kind of ironic considering how much Obama was bashed. LIfe is such a crack up..

Cruz's bio isn't the problem. It's what he believes.

I know that Crankster. I'm laughing because his bio reads so much like Obama, whom the right hated on so intensely.

no.. its not just me
Or
No.. it doesn't read like Obama's?
to me the parallels are.
Both attended High level law schools
Obama was brutalized for being an intellectual elitist.
both Junior Senators
Obama is attacked for supposedly being born out of the country.
Cruz actually was born out of the country.
I realize it isn't perfectly parallel. But the similarities are interesting to me.

First off, I'm not a Cruz guy. That being said...
I don't see any C#m Laudes or Magna C#m Laudes's on The President's resume.
I don't see him clerking for a Chief Justice.
I don't see him praised in The National Law Journal as one of the top 50 most influential minority lawyers.
I don't see any record of him arguing nine cases before the Supreme Court, or being Solicitor General of Texas, etc.
I don't really have a horse in this election yet, so my point here is just that portraying someone as stupid when they're not is a waste of time compared to arguing issues.
Of course if you really want to ridicule someone, how about Ben Carson. He's a creationist and believes the pyramids were built to store grain. He's the guy I can't believe anyone can take seriously.

So basically you are saying Cruz is smarter. If true, and I don't really doubt it, then why was Obama bashed by the right for being an intellectual elite, and Cruz isn't? Thats the kind of hypocrisy that I was kind of pointing at.
Just tired of the nonsense.
Why isn't the right up in arms that Cruz was born outside America? They certainly were about Obama, even after Obama proved he was born in America and its established that Cruz wasn't . I haven't seen a single person up in arms about Cruz being born outside the country.
Its just hypocrisy.
Swift boating nonsense that gets tiresome.
It would have been nice to have concentrated on real issues, but we spent a sh#t load of energy dealing with that nonsense.

Because Obama is black.
