Hey SC Seagoat...sorry about the arthritis but nothing like being forced to do differently! Sometimes.. Or escape ones comfy zone...

I am hoping my Morton's neuroma doesn't flair up as bad as it did last year. It limited my nordiskate and tele season a bit...quite a bit!! If it flairs, I'll be lookin' at splits at the end of this winter. I always loved snowboarding but the mobility of them sucked 20 or so years ago so I got walking skis. Oh, and yeah, at least you can still cruise it on the snow!

Fix the heel, fix the problem!

Buffalo Pass, Wilbeer? Nice! I've played there, lived in Steamboat for a couple of years, but I probably told you that already.

Sliding is rad, no matter how you slice it.

"Broken binding broken brain."

Boy, for someone who takes exception to the supposed over-the-top attitude of tele skiiers, you sure seem to have a lot of attitude.

Who cares? Like you said, skiing is just fun. Go skiing!

When a skier locks down their heels they are essentially using training wheels. I stand up and use parallel turns 70% of the time and tele when it is more efficient. Skiing is skiing and I don't need training wheels to ride my bike either.

I really don't get this thinking (serious or not). A good teleskier has no chance against a good fixed heel skier. Fixed heel skiing just give you more possibilities. Then when the randonne gear is lighter and easier to walk with I really can't see any reason to tele.

I also kind of doubt that the tele turn is better than a parallel turn with teleboats in any condition...

Man, it's time to shred!

Let's all get out there on whatever plank we choose, sliding and hucking is the source!

I never feel more at peace with the world than when I'm out in deep pow, charging hard.

YES! I only have it in my right toe. Has no flex whatsoever so on Tele it just rolls to the outside. I've tried to compensate but it's way too much work since I can just lock down and take off. I still prefer off piste.
I can still cross country because the turning isn't (usually) as fast or as frequent. But it's all academic until we get some snow!

"Never locked 'em down so don't know what I'm missing. "

Me, either. Didn't start skiing until my early 30's, and learned on a pair of Tua 210 & Merrell XCD's...did the Sierra High Route the same year with a 65 lb pack!

It kicked my ass so hard I kept my skins on until reaching the Tablelands...then something clicked, and I had one my most glorious days in the mountains.

Never skiied with heels locked, but with the new gear that's out there, I'll probably make the leap. Hopefully the tele habit will never leave, either. It's all....GREAT!

Microwaves heat food up hella faster too, but I never use one, unless I have to. I never understood the efficiency argument for a recreational activity. Climbing up the steep side of a cliff sure as hell isn't always the most efficient.

Just referring to a bumper sticker I have seen in Montana several times that read"Missoula ,only 20 miles from Montana".
Still do not know what they mean, just thought it was common knowledge up your way.

Been up your way a few times, want to find some good BC is all.

I think AT might be better for skinning? I have armt surplus cable AT bindings on some really light skies for approach with my ice climbing boots. They climb much better than my real Telle skies.
