Hello everyone,

We are up to over 6,500 lbs after today and still have the big and heavy projects going on over the weekend. Thank you all.

Ken, that quantity is almost beyond comprehension. Hard to believe visitors would be pitching that much trash in a National Park.

Last year, 7,655 pounds were collected. Going to be hard to top 19,500 pounds already from this year - especially with a day to go. Sadly, the garbage seems a renewable resource, so no need to leave some for next year.

We walked the road west from the 120/140 junction on Wednesday, and picked up. A significant proportion was recyclable, mostly bottles and cans.

Keep up the good work Ken and all who are involved this weekend. Sorry I cant be there but, shoulder injury still is an issue. Maybe can be there for the art auction. Dont need to lift to much weight to write a check.

You guys and gals are great.

Way to go all, especially, Ken.
I was there for a couple days helping out and Ken's energy is Great, really makes ya want to help. Then the kids come in with a load and they are so proud. Everybody wins here, young and old, local or out of towner.
Once again, thank you Ken and all the volunteers.

The Gunsight is clean again and it went well. Thanks Dirtineye for the info. We took out the power and phone poles and lines that used to feed the Cascade housing that was removed a while back. Cleaned roadways and will concentrate on the Valley floor tomorrow.

Ken

p.s. I will give an update after it is over and when I have had a chance to rest.

I forgot to mention that Planite Granite took care of the power and phone poles under the leadership of NPS employee and volunteer coordinator Ken Stowell. My hat is off to them.
