If any of you STers are reliably coming from Sacramento on Friday afternoon and can offer a ride to one of the speakers, please contact me off forum so I can see if the arrangement will work.
Payment via Paypal is still down but not for long. We appreciate your patience.
Cheers!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend. However, I did buy a ticket to support such a fine event.
Thank you SG and everyone that is involved!!!

Quite an impressive list of hot climbers and, bring women, you're likely to hear more understated boldness than self serving bravado. Wish I could be there.....prior comittments keep me home.
Spent an evening with Carla Firey....she's psyched!

Russel McLean, Sarah Steck, and I are coming over in my Beetle. Still hoping for a room at Best Western on Friday, but are setup for Motel 6. Assume Russ and I still have the room at BW for Saturday. Let me know of any changes, Steve.

Steve,
Since I and some others yakked up getting women involved at last year get together and you have done it in spades, I'm there! See you Friday.
Thanks for your good work.
I'm a little worried about the dress code given all the tuxedos last year, but I'll manage somehow.

New route and new tower, from last weekend. Puts me at around 157 desert towers.
Eve is now at, like, twice that many. Impressive!

great program tonight
Audrey Salkeld provided a wonderful history of woman climbing from the 1800s to the 1940s
my earliest memories of Audrey was reading the "People" section of Mountain magazine. Her talk ended with a poignant memoir of Nea Morin, whose book lends its title to this year's festival.
This was followed by a fantastic presentation by Annie Whitehorse, Christy Tews, Arlene Blum, and Irene Beardsley (left to right) recalling the 1978 American Women's Himalayan Expedition to Annapurna
this was a great recollection of that expedition, with the members recalling the details and addressing the audience questions at the end. A unique event to experience, climbers getting to sit around and talk about climbing.
The rest of the program should be great also, looking forward to it!
