Hunters give 14 BILLION a year to their wildlife management.
Hunters give, now it contribute to the economy?
Are you really that dumb???
The governors tag for sheep sold for some 60K - for ONE sheep tag. All proceeds actual;y going to SHEEP.
Sold...is not the same as donating. And just what did the sheep do with the money?? God damn you are just out there.

I don't know about the numbers but hunting has had a profound influence on wildlife conservation and rural economies. I don't hunt but if no one did the west and a lot of wetlands would look quite different.

Ron....Let's bet on your statement, $100, $1000?
Ron stated: Hunters give 14 BILLION a year to their wildlife management.
You are wrong so just admit it.

Ron...do you understand that spending is not the same as donating/giving?
Are you really that thick-headed?
Someone buys a guns for $500 does not mean that $500 goes to wildlife management...do you understand that?

I hunt deer and elk because I think that factory farming is disgusting, unhealthy, and bad for the environment. I don't want to be a vegan, so I harvest my own meat.
I think it's pretty fuct to hunt for "fun" of killing (ie, not using the animal).
It's costly, as an elk tag in Colorado is about 50 bucks, but I like to think that the money is going to a good cause (wildlife management). Hunting surely does boost local economies just as does skiing, mountain biking, and jeeping.

My thoughts on hunting.
Hunting is fun.
Shooting is fun.
Watching an animal die is unpleasant.
Dressing is unpleasant.
Eating is 50/50 when it comes to game, sometimes excellent sometimes not.
Self repect for not avoiding the unpleasant stuff by going to the supermarket? A bit of that for sure.
Hunting behavior is deep in Human DNA. It's part of our makeup. Stronger in some than others for sure. Like any basic drive it can be a force for good or bad. It has various expressions too, killing animals isn't likely the most common. Lotta hunter mentality out there.
Regarding preservation, I don't know the dollars and time spent by hunters but I doubt there is a more important more giving group than hunters when it comes to preserving North American wildlife. That ethic seems to be even stronger than it was when I was a kid.
Just hating on hunters seems pretty stupid to me. It is hard to justify hating all hunting in any reasonable way I can think of.

Ron this is a far cry from 14 billion...Each year, nearly $200 million in hunters' federal excise taxes are distributed to State agencies to support wildlife management programs.
Are you really that thick headed??

Ron...far from it...prove that 14 billion dollars was given by hunters for wildlife management in a year.

You are just to dumb to deal with Ron.
They spend 14 billon, that is not the same as giving and only a small percentage of that goes to wildlife management.

14 billion to the US economy. that means things like clothes, gasoline, guns, food, etc.. that isn't going directly for animal conservation.
come on Ron.

Ron.. that isn't cherry picking. I took your answer and analyzed it. You said 14 billion given by hunters for animal protection. the site you linked said 14 billion contributed to the US economy. There is a huge difference in that and that is not cherry picking. Its your link Ron. not mine.
