Women between the ages of 19-45 are more likely to die from acts of violence then cancer or heart failure.
Missing persons and murder victims are more likely to be female by 3 to 5 ratio.
In fact, 1 in 8 women have been raped in the U.S.
3 out of 4 have been attacked by people they know.
2 out of 5 women are attacked while carrying the assailant's child.
These numbers remain the same all through the population despite factors of social classes, race, religion, etc.
In fact, during President Bush's regime, violence against women has increased 11% .
"Apparently Christianity in the White House has not been a good thing for women."
(These statistics are reasons for everybody to be protective of their female counterparts.)

"Women between the ages of 19-45 are more likely to die from acts of violence then cancer or heart failure."
Men between the ages of 89 - 177 are more likely to die of old age than Uterine cancer. What's your point?
Also, 9 out of 9 cancer victims have cancer.
Statistics are fun!

D-wrote: Bob,
You are limiting your spectrum to just ER's. Most people who have cancer or heart conditions are not going to an er.
I have a HMO...I go to a doctor, the doctor does certain exams and procedures. He bill the carrier...the carrier pay a fixed amount for your visit, operation, e-rays...etc.
The carrier is not going to PAY extra for because you had Joe Whoever doing the procedures.

You know, women between the ages of 15 and 34 are also far more likely to die in a car accident than from cancer or heart failure. Especially in the lower age range.
Arrest automakers.
The point is this: You can wrangle math to make it support whatever special interest issue you happen to like this week. People 65 - 74 are FOUR times more likely to die from kidney failure than firearms accidents! We need to take all their kidneys away immediately!
As of 2002, roughly .7% of the deaths in the United States were due to homicide. A portion of those, I am sure, were perpetrated by abusive spouses. While I agree it's a problem, I think we have larger fish to fry before we can move it to the top of the list.
I'm not for spousal abuse; that would be ridiculous. But don't try and pin that crap on the administration currently in power. Who is occupying the White House has absolutely nothing to do with spousal situations in this country except in the (not so) rare case of the Clinton, Eisenhower, Kennedy, etc. situations which directly affected the percentage of infidelity in this country.
Blaming a given administration for a change in the rate of spousal abuse is about as stupid as blaming a given administration for changes in the economy. They have nothing to do with it.
Edit: And no, I am not particularly conservative. I voted Kerry/Edwards last time around. I'm just not someone willing to listen to absolute garbage so I can stroke my pet issue.
