Yosemite Facelift Camping

climber
Jun 24, 2012 - 11:43pm PT
All facelift camping confirmations have been sent out. If you requested camping and did not receive confirmation yet, shoot me an email: yosemitefaceliftcamping@hotmail.com. Send me the names of those in your party, your arrival and departure dates and an email address to send confirmation.

As of right now, Yellow Pine and Camp 4 are full but there are spots for another 120 volunteers in Upper Pines... Spread the word!

This is quite the people-puzzle so I appreciate your understanding/patience with this process.

Take care,
Lindsey

Let's cut to the chase. Is Tami coming to FaceLift this year, and if not, how can we change her mind? There are three months to go.

John is wise. Bribery can be sound, if ya throw in some good liquor, maybe?
We COULD always smuggle her. It wouldn't take the biggest bag.
Just sayin'....;-)

Your father might never have stayed anywhere in the Valley but Camp 4. Still, Camp 4 can be a bit proletarian at times, and if you haven't camped much before, might be a bit of an adjustment. Yellow Pines can seem a little cozier - until the bongo drums come out, and #46 visits.

Lindsey,
I am so bummed I wont see your smiling face this year. Thanks a ton for managing the camping. Must be a nightmare. I hope Estes is everything you want it to be.

Wow 120 sites left in the pines. KEN! You must have really pulled some strings. Sounds like that might be the hap-nen place this year.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again and making Yosemite a better place. Ken can you tell us what some of the special projects are or who is lined up as presenters? Two months to go and digging it.

Also confirmed for Yellow Pines...Thank You!

OT Marmot keeps trying to drag my pin rack into the pig...think he's trying to tell me something lol! Jk.

(For those that don't know, the original OT Marmot is a stuffed marmot toy I got my gal from our first Yosemite trip. His name is Chuck, and I have to fight him for bed space every night :D )

Really looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, and stoked for all the people that will be making it for the fist time this year!

Lolli, if you arrive in Yosemite the weekend before, some of us will already be there, in Camp 4. Half a dozen of us usually arrive the Saturday or Sunday before the event starts, to help with preparations, and people trickle in from that point on. Quite a lot have usually arrived by Tuesday, and IIRC, there'll be camping in Yellow Pine also starting then.

so there are new things to see down south...
Lolli
"down south" ain't got nuttin'. pardon my Northern California chauvinism.

If you haven't been to the East Side (395 - Bishop - Lone Pine etc) that's what you want to see. Then come over Tioga Pass to get to The Valley.
Fly into SFO or Reno or LAX, rent a car. Unfortunately, the Greyhound bus stopped running up 395 several years ago so a car is about the only way.

Post your itinerary here and I'm sure you'll find people to put you up.
the East Side is awesome. One of the most spectacular drives in the US. And plenty of good day hiking from the car into the Big Peaks.

+1...,except, Southern Cal has some beautiful beaches and tide pools, with warmish swimming.
Swimming in the pacific in the northern coastal waters ..... .. is COLD!...

ps..Lolli, our spare room is open & free...... Breakfast, candy store, swimming, farmers market, bike rides, and hiking is included.......no tax.
