"Bugatti Veyron Super Sports $2,400,000. This is by far the most expensive street legal car available on the market today..."

Simon, that's just an insane car. It's astoundingly beautiful and kind of appalling at the same time. Here in the SF Bay area, we see all kinds of super expensive cars on the road all the time because of all the tech millionaires, but I've never seen that one.

phylp... Here's the story with me and that car.

I grew up in Los Gatos in the Bay Area WAY before it became so trendy and hip and full of billionaires. If you know the town then you might be familiar with Los Gatos Ferrari (or whatever they call it today).

A couple of years ago I was there with my wife and daughter. I told them they MUST check this place out. Both were fully impressed but my daughter gravitated toward a luscious car sitting in the showroom away from the flotsam and jetsam of Maserati's, Ferraris, Porsches and other dreck.

Daughter: "I want this one."

Dad: "Okay, keep modeling and saving your pennies."

Before walking out, I ask the kind gentleman the price tag. $2.5 MILLION!

We gracefully walked back, pockets bulging with Benjamins and posed next to the car we will never have.

You think the outside is nice... you should see (and smell) the interior! Not to mention the engine!

**Jaybro...*

Not a big fan of that air intake on the roof (see website), but still a nice piece! It would look nice in my rearview mirror!

Crap! I was just hoping for a Porsche. Guess I don't have high enough standards. On the other hand, one of neebee's dream catchers or happie's chalk bags with a note would be more important to me than a freaking over priced car.

Would this be a good time to mention that the cheerful folk at Adbusters, those loveable "culture jammers", have decided that Occupy Xmas starts on November 25th? http://www.adbusters.org/blogs/adbusters-blog/occupyxmas-kicks-nov-2526.html

They seem to think we shouldn't buy anything.

I wonder if more people don't sign up cause they don't know what they could gift if they received a person they never heard of. That's why I didn't sign on the past couple years. What could we do to allay any fears of gift finding or sending....????

Just a thought, lynne

Edit: And Oh by the way, Santa, I'd like a 1990 Toyota Tacoma with a full tank of gas. :D Silver Grey if possible. Oh yeah, and a camper shell....

I will second what Lynne said.

In the past I have received a name and address but nothing beyond that. It would help the whole process if people told Santa things like:

FICTITIOUS PERSON'S PROFILE
I am a 46 year old man.
I am in good shape.
I do not drink wine.
I love blue shirts but would never wear an orange shirt.
I have a dozen kids.
Someday I hope to travel to Iceland.
I do not listen to music but I read lots of books on history, science and medicine.
I love movies.
I am married.

With that sort of info it would be so much easier to send a targeted gift.
