My post has nothing to do with race. I was ready to let this post die until I saw those responses. I may generalize from time to time, but look at people as individuals. Vick's treatment of those dogs shows (in my mind) a basic amoralism. To hook up a battery to a dog and put them in a tub of water demonstrates another level of sick.

Sure a lot of selective compassion in the world
A lot of people out there eating bacon and pork (Science says pigs are smarter than dogs) and watching boxing and football somehow think dog fighting is like rape.
I'm not for dogfighting but if you care about animal welfare so much, quit supporting the veal industry, pork industry and all the other businesses that inflict all the pain of dog fighting on animals and they all die in the end.
Maybe it's different but it ain't THAT different. People just want to feel superior and demonize somebody
And boxing and the ilk are probably going to be outlawed someday cause getting knocked out is bad for you. Almost nobody makes it through their pro football career without permanent injury.

We return now to our regularly scheduled discussion of the "white" perspective on the Michael Vick issue.
It's surprising to us how black Americans see the issue so differently. But I guess if it were really a question of race, then "we" wouldn't even give black entertainers the privilege of making all that money at all. The fact that black families have half the annual income of white families must be totally unrelated.
The funny thing about our other colorblind condemnation of crime thread is that no-one ever noticed the racial connotations of "inbred." I wonder if a black person would notice that?
