A friend wrote a song titled.." Bend over boyfriend". His grandma laughs her ass off every time he sings it. One of the lines in the song is.. strapping on the dong. Its also about womens rights.

I was thinking of this thread yesterday as I listened to an interview with
the head of the Sea Shepherd Society. Maybe I'm deranged but it seems to me
the Scandihoovians have a nice wholesome 'green' stereotype yet Iceland, Norge,
and Denmark (I didn't know this-in their Faeroe Islands) are still whaling.

I'd have thought that Americans would be totally down with a good old-fashioned (mock) witch burning.

we would have to share a meal that was supposed to be for one person Yup
My wife and I often order one entree to share and a side of salad each. We seldom feel a need for the dessert, which if we get, we only get 1 and share.
I can't eat a full dinner in most restaurants and often leave some on my plate. Neither my wife nor I are petite, nor sedentary.

Keep 'em coming. They're funny as Hell (can I say that here?)

Hei Lolli! Hva gjør du til påsken? Her regner det, men i går og fredag var det fint vær, og vi klatret.
Hmm, a sheep in a bed with people. On SuperTopo yet. Who'd a thunk it?

For some reason I chuckle as much at Anders saying 'totally down with' as I do at Lolli's friend's cartoons.
Weird.

The last two are among the best, at least of the ones that don't skewer USA.
I'll be chuckling all day.

Aloha Lolli and All!
I like this thread because stereotypes CAN show us some truths about OURSELVES if we are open minded, tolerant and humorous enough to see those truths. In Hawaii, where I've lived for more than 25 years, we have high ethnic diversity and very tolerant attitudes, compared to the rest of the U.S., at least.
One of our best known comedians is Frank de Lima who has built his career on illustrating our Hawaiian ethnic stereotypes. If anyone ever gets a chance to see him in live performance, please take that opportunity. Here's a video clip that illustrates the humor and tolerance of the stereotypes here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSo44dDDu6Y&NR=1
I think the tolerance and humor aspects of stereotypes is important for all of us to learn. I know sometimes when I see intolerance and anger here on the Taco, I turn away in sadness for those who, in my judgement, involve themselves in the mean-spirited bashing of others.
Having visited Scandinavian countries, I found those peoples to be the friendliest of all those whom I met in Europe. (That's my opinion, based on my experience, not a stereotype.) These comics make me want to travel back there. Thanks, Lolli.

This is my favorite thread going, now. Thanks Lolli! I'm only in a position to see it every few days, and usually on my phone, but it's where I go first.
