"patagonia light pullover down sweater
patagonia superlight wind jacket"
I've got a Patagonia wind jacket (pullover) and REI fiberfill vest. Both size large, like new, blue. If you can use these, I'll send to Nomads.

on a practical note, sky, there are great thrift stores in bishop and ventura that have an outdoorsy orientation and might help replenish some of the clothing. if you want to hit the ventura stores sometime, you can basecamp here.

I agree!
I'm pretty much just reporting what's coming in from the pledged list at this point. The Unknown person will probably have a name soon. My chief concern and why I post updates is that I want to make sure the donors know their gear arrived and is getting to it's target. Especially since this is all in my name!

If you look at the list, somebody dropped of some gear and I don't know who it is. That's the "Uknown" person.
I'm pretty much shutting things down at this point, I just want to make sure what arrives is reported.

I think we are in pretty good shape at this point. Thanks to all for the generous donations and coming to the aid of one of our own.
I just got word that Sky did indeed get SOME of his gear back. I have no details whatsoever. It sounds like his offset aliens are in his possession.
I left a message with him asking to post up the details here.
Here's what we have so far:

Forget it Gordon, yer gear is covered in spit-up and half-chewed crackers, and probably smells like used diapers.

Well, if THAT isn't proof there's a god, I don't know WHAT would be!
If he gets his gear back? Keep that which I donated; the dud is a guide and gear gets a lot of use. Besides, a gift is a gift, with no strings attached - he can do with it as he wishes.

hey there say... perhaps is too late to mention this, but this
part of a post (by peter haan???) reminded me of something:
Maybe weirder, Robert, it gets taken to the recycler!
many folks DO try to get, by asking, or worse by taking, any METAL that they can find...
folks around here take it to scrap metal places for whatever they can get for it...
i once called a few places looking for a sundial that a NEIGHBORing family that lived behind, took, :(
my mom had bought it for me, :(
so it was sentimental...
the folks behind me denied it, but,
the scrap metal truck of theirs was always "full" and their son
loved to "fill" it for them... :(
NOTE:
the scrap metal folks around here, were kind enough to say that they'd
keep a look out for it, and took my phone-number, but obviously could not promise as at times they are just too busy...
but i was told i could come in and take a look, too, on the grounds...
sure hope this helps folks find gear, too, in the future, by
checking these places out...
god bless...
:)
edit: oh, also, in the old days, many store clerks would take the stuff behind counter for you, til you were done shopping... not sure how it goes, now a days..

Let's just wait and see. He did not get it all back. There is still a bunch missing. I've asked him to post up. If need be, I'll get stuff back to people.

No, my understanding is he managed to get the Offset Aliens. Not sure how. But he did call Nomad and tell them that.
