In 1978, they let us put a 6-foot high plywood quarter-pipe up against a concrete block wall at my high school. There were numerous photos of people riding that ramp in the yearbook. Even the cowboy-type people wanted to ride it. It was gone later that year, because a quarter pipe is an inferior riding surface.
