If anyone objects, I'll take these pics down. I'm getting a lot of mail from people who want to know who she was.

This was our friend...

Rest in peace...

To Blue, Kev, Snap, Barcus and all those here that knew her, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. There are no perfect words at times like these. I hope her memory burns brightly for a long time in the hearts and mind of all who knew here. When the time is right I hope we have the opportunity to learn of her identity and perhaps some details on what went wrong. Be strong.

A few Psalms to comfort:
Regardless of your religion, these Psalms have comforted mourners for thousands of years. May they bring some peace in this dark time for those involved.

PSALM 27
For in the day of trouble
He will keep me safe in His dwelling;
He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

PSALM 139
O Lord, You have searched me
and You know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue,
You know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in - behind and before;
You have laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.

Words cannot be expressed for this and many terrible accidents that have taken loved ones from our lives. My sincere condolences to all who knew her. But let's keep in our prayers her climbing partners on that day. Trying to get help and staying with her is a pain that will live with them forever. I keep you all in my prayers. Keep climbing with the passion of life, but remember each other with the same passion of love. We are all in this together and that is how we will always remain strong and safely on belay.

Yeah, been feeling pissed-off between helpless and heartbroken. Though I only met her this summer, I had high hopes to camp and climb with her more and get to know her better. Already counted her a friend. The very last thing she told me was, "that's what friends are for!"

She was so easy going. Someone described her as gentle, that's for sure. Add to that smart, kind, open-minded, open-hearted. It was clear she was full of passion for getting out to the Sierra as she did every weekend to hike or climb. Never wasted a moment. Lithe and scrappy, with a great attitude and appetite to do all kinds of climbing, she was a natural. Had the willingness to step up to the plate, with open caution about her possible limits. Never one to complain. She laughed easily and a lot. Asked if she wanted to climb something, her whole tiny body nodded yes with the rapid nod of her head and huge sudden smile. Just hiking along, though generally quiet, out of no where she would call out loud and strong in this booming voice, you'd for a second not be sure where it came from, then realize it was Ishun just spreading the happiness for being there.

The ST outpouring of appreciation for her helps, and hopefully helps those closest to her. Unimaginable loss. She was a treasure to be sure and will be missed.

Losses like this diminish us all, but also present the opportunity to celebrate a life brightly lived.

erie that the date of the photo above is the day that i was dealing with my partner jeff maurer's death a few miles away on the third pillar.
and here i am reading this all. i am so sad. reading this forum my heart goes out to this woman...i am also 36 and am sure we have much in common, and to her partners. it is a rough card to be dealt. i've been traveling through this grief for the past two months and it is no easy path. the one thing i wish i could convey to you, which has taken me all this time to get to, is it is not your fault...
but we all process this differently. my hope is for graceful healing to you all. many prayers to you and everyone involved. i am so sorry.
love,

This has been a particularly rough year for our community.

Yes it has been, and the year before too.

I was sadly following this thread, unfolding almost in real time, and feeling once
again how the internet has widened my exposure to strangers' joy and sorrow.

Deepest condolences to the many who knew and loved this young woman.

Not sure of all the details yet. There were conflicting reports yesterday.
Am sure the climbers who were with her are reeling.

Clark, stoked you've still got those shots.
I was thinking about that day last night, I lost them when my laptop crashed.
can you post a couple more?
We will celebrate her life with mass quantities of plumb wine around the campfire this thanksgiving.....
