This is the week we know, with increasing certainty, that we are entering the last phase of the Trump Presidency. This doesn’t feel like a prophecy; it feels like a simple statement of the apparent truth.
We been hearing about Trump's ouster from day one. These bold claims remind me of Twain's "The report of my death was an exaggeration."

Sean fkkin Hannity
Updated, 3:12 p.m. (AP): President Donald Trump's personal attorney has been forced to reveal that another of his clients is Fox News host Sean Hannity. Lawyers for Michael Cohen argued in court on Monday that they could not identify Hannity because he asked that his name not be disclosed in connection with an FBI seizure of Cohen's files. But Judge Kimba Wood made one of the lawyers identify him in open court. The hearing in a New York City courtroom stems from a surprise raid this month on Cohen's home and office.
Bright guy. Can he count?
Cohen's attorneys argued last week that there were "thousands if not millions" of privileged documents among the materials seized in the FBI raids.

Great article Tarbuster. But I fear that the GOP has done a Faustian deal with the tRump devil, and they will try to shield him until they feel he is of no use any longer. They realize his base does not care if he is a racist, mysoginist crook. It will be death by a thousand cuts as the evidence of his ugly life continues to trickle out.

That would be hilarious if Hannity gets swept up and put into a Federal dumpster along with Trump amd Cohen. Those guys could pass the time doing their Three Stooges routine for the other inmates.

Trump is a great president.
Among the ranks of all the white nationalist, misogynistic, sociopath traitors who have served as president I would have to agree - none greater.

Why is it that Faux News doesn't want to say anything about the new Hannity news?
Every other news agency is already reporting on the story.

But, but, but what is Rush Limbaugh saying? I’m sure he can explain this all away as a liberal conspiracy to destroy ‘Merica.

I gotta say, I'm a little obsessed with Hannity. He is a little man with a little brain who hit on an algorithm to make himself important in a really weird period in American history. I hate the little sycophant! He and his ilk are enervating America. I would love to see him go down.

Well, so much for any claim to lawyer-client privilege.
No, a formal relationship required in most jurisdictions. A confidential relationship can be formed during a conversation at a cocktail party if an attorney is not careful. No sympathy for Hannity, he deserved to be embarrassed.

Can a president pardon himself? Four days before Richard Nixon resigned, his own Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel opined no, citing “the fundamental rule that no one may be a judge in his own case.” We agree.
The Justice Department was right that guidance could be found in the enduring principles that no one can be both the judge and the defendant in the same matter, and that no one is above the law.
The Constitution specifically bars the president from using the pardon power to prevent his own impeachment and removal. It adds that any official removed through impeachment remains fully subject to criminal prosecution. That provision would make no sense if the president could pardon himself.

Things we've learned about Michael Cohen in the 11 days since Trump said "Ask Michael Cohen":
He's under criminal investigation;
The Feds think he has criminal evidence;
He barely practices law but does 'other things' for Trump;
He represents Sean Hannity.

Can Trump pardon himself...?
He can't pre-emptively pardon himself. He would have to be charged and convicted before a pardon was even possible.
There is an issue over whether a sitting president can be brought before a Federal court on criminal charges. There are conflicting legal theories with that, and they've never been tested before. Trump will most likely be the first to stagger into that untested legal territory. #MAGA.
The Constitution seems to indicate that the proper procedure is to remove the president from office, and then crucify him in a criminal court of law. He would not have the power to pardon anyone, and would have the same legal status as Michael Cohen, or any other criminal.
Clearly, the president can't pardon himself if convicted in the Senate to remove him from office. So, the most direct and uncontestable procedure is to impeach him, remove him from office, and then indict and convict him.
Pence could then pardon Trump, a la Ford and Nixon. And then, Pence could be impeached and removed from office.
This Trumpian tornado of turpitude is probably going to be swirling around for a long time.
I thought the Department of Justice was leading the way.
I'm just an observer, heckling and jeering from a cheap seat in the Peanut Gallery.

Norton, I'm not arguing as I don't know, but are you sure? Earlier last year I read a book about that same issue (Author is a Constitutional scholar, can't remember his name) and if I recall, whether or not a President can pardon himself is a complex issue, open to interpretation.

Yeah, but the pardon is only good for Federal crimes. The Cohen stuff is State of New York.
Where's this all going? No one could have made this shite up. I hate to say it, but I was a young man when the whole Watergate circus was running. I remember sitting in front of the TV every evening as the process proceeded. I knew all the players and later became the subject of one of my book collections. This is headed the same way.
