If you want to blame it on political systems, then it looks like the "socialists" are the winners over the "capitalists".
They are not political systems. No matter how much Republicans want you to believe that.

what did the taxpayers get? a thousand more people on unemployment.. A thousand more people who had jobs while it lasted and paid into their unemployment, social security, fed taxes, state taxes, healthcare plans. Paid rent or mortgage, bought cars, sent kids to university. Invested in their IRAs and 401Ks. Plenty of wages paid and materials purchased for the Really Big Manufacturing facility I watch them build in Fremont for over a year. Plenty of capital equipment purchased. A few million $ machine here, a few million $ processing line there, a few million $ HVAC system. Pretty soon you're spending real money with vendors.
The investments in Solyndra didn't "evaporate" they fed back into the economy. The "velocity" of money as any good Capitalist Economist will tell you.
So how do you think the scenario unfolded? Obama went out looking for a solar startup company, said "oh cool, look at Solyndra" and then went to the Solyndra management and said "I've got $500 million to lend you"?
Or did Solyndra use their venture capital (being monitored by their VC partners all the time) and good ole "greed" ("greed is good" as fatty is always telling us) to try to buy some Obama influence with campaign contributions, then promote their product to the Dept of Energy and pitch it to Obama?
Congress is investigating that connection now and we'll see what comes of it.
Funny, reminds me of Halliburton (Dick Cheney) getting the enormous no-bid contracts for the Iraq war. Except that really was a shady deal since Cheney was chairman and CEO of Halliburton Company from 1995 to 2000. How much $ had Halliburton contributed to Shrub-Cheney 2000?
But hey, when the Capitalists are greedy, it's business as usual.

The Cheney/Neocon rationale was sound Then Syria and Saudi Arabia? After Shrub flew the Saudi royal family members back home during the 9/11 air shutdown?
Now you're really off the deep end. Hook Line and Sinker.

Fat...Yes you are so right. The cheating lying, flip-flopping sack that is Rudy is a better choice than a Obama.
Republicans like liars...it has been a trait of theirs for years, you accept and promote it.
