It's unrealistic to think that a president or other authority can change outcomes much in their first year.
So starting statistics games with the first day in office is not very meaningful.
Some changes take many years to have much impact.
Also it's silly to assign a flat GINI index to Bush and claim Obama caused increasing inequality since then. All you have to do is look at some of their major acts that might affect that index.
GWB gave a bonanza to the rich by lowering their income and capital gains taxes, a permanent wealth surge.
Those taxes have only recently been moved back to more reasonable levels - for instance in 2013 a 3.8% Medicare tax began on capital gains of high income earners.

Remind me again, what is the ticket price for admission to this forum? Because this thread has entertained me, and even informed me to a degree. Better than going to the flicks, sort of.

You people whinge about WW3, corruption, debates/slagging matches on TV, small hands and lost emails, smoking ducks... and toasters.
I'll give you something to cry about, and it is really first world... I lost my EuroMillions ticket today, I think at the train station in Wexford or the bus stop.
My landlord said not to cry over spilt milk, as chances are it was not the winning ticket.
But I lay here in bed thinking, I cannot sleep, somebody has got my €40m ticket for nothing.
Okay, being a Yank I would have been liable for what, 39.6% to the IRS, that still would have left me with close to €30m, enough to get my teeth fixed, car insured and NCT and motor tax.
I am bummed man. My fortune, gone because I was careless.
On a more serious note though, I got down on Escopeta some pages back because of his attitude towards dementia. You have to understand, tackling dementia is a passion for me. My mother passed away from Alzheimer's In California, Jennie's mother from Alzheimer's in Dublin and Jen has a form of dementia, stuck in a nursing home.
So slag Hillary and Donald, be lucky and find my winning EuroMillions ticket, and be the first to commit suicide attempting Devil's Thumb North Face, but don't diss dementia. It is a horrible disease/illness/disorder. I was at a Dementia Workshop this morning. It can be fought.

It's going to be very entertaining.
I love that line "...drain the swamp..." (In Washington, DC).
Sounds fantastic! But how would you do that? Specifically, legally, in real time, it seems our system has created the "swamp." So what part of the system are you going to throw out?

3% growth is ludicrous, unsustainable. We need to learn to live within our means, and that involves more than just money. Great periods of growth occurred during time periods of great destruction of natural resources. We blow through resources at a ridiculous rate compared to the rest of the world, and we should accelerate that? No thanks.
Economists bemoan what they consider slow growth.
I'm pretty sure you can't have infinite growth in a finite space, so what's the plan dudes?

Funny how every one of your political posts (and I see thousands of them) is something negative about the other candidate.You gladly participate in sh#t talking yet non of you or your candidates can offer any real information about political solutions to the problems facing the country you say you love so much. Just try for once to post something positive about your candidate. Post something with real information that isn't some negative slanderous bullshit about the other guy. My guess is if you tried to do that you'd have nothing to post... and oh wouldn't that be a refreshing change. And I'm not writing this so you can comment with more political posts!! Miki Dora

National debt is affected by the Bush tax cuts which gave most of the cuts to the well off.
Add another name to the list that doesn't know the difference between Debt and Deficit.
You are talking about yourself right?
I'll explain it to you. Deficit is when the government takes in less money than it spends. Like when the Bush tax cuts reduced revenues it increased the deficit. Debt is the accumulated amount owed due to a deficit. Like the increased deficit due to the Bush tax cuts led to more debt. You seem to bring this up a lot so I guess no one has explained it to you.
