hey there... happy sweet christmas day to you bobby's mom, bobby, faith, all the rest of family and all included over there...
god has a way of doing unexpected wonderful things, from the barreness of heartfelt woes... he just did something too wonderful for words here, for me, from a family sorrow--as to some well-needed new-life for those i love...
may he do even more wonderful unexpected new-life things for you and your loved ones, bobby and all, as a gift of prayer for you all...
happy sweet christmas day! god bless...

Hi Faith,
You may not remember me but I met you and your brother a while ago while working for your father in the mid 1990's at Stillrock Management. I heard through one of your dad's business partners about Bobby and I was shocked and saddened. You and your brother were so warm and genuine in your kindness that it left a lasting impression. It's obvious by reading the many messages left by well wishers that Bobby has had that affect on many others.
However, I'm really happy to hear that Bobby is improving and that with such a wonderful network of family and friends supporting him and praying for his recovery I believe he will continue to regain his vigor. I'd like to extend a warm and heartfelt Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Sincerely,
David Vasquez

Dearest Bobby, Faith and all of the Models -
I have been thinking about all of you a lot this Christmas, and saying prayers for Bobby; I know that right now he's surrounded by friends and family and that he's radiating with your love and positive energy.
I want to send Bobby a few things to his room at Craig - momentos from my recent trip to Kenya, etc. - and will try to track down his address. (Faith, let's talk very soon!)
I know that 2008 will bring good things for Bobby! Happy New Year and much love to all of you,
Ashley

Dear Bobby M. and "Bob's Mom"...from "Rob's Mom"...deep lucious snow, maybe 30 inches since a week ago here. The black lab Lucy is sliding down the tall piles as if she is a seal...on her back, tummy, and smiling as only a black lab can smile! She is recovering well from a visit to "The Mayo Clinic for DOGS" (and all other creatures, big and small) at the CSU vet school. Must have poked a bit of a stick thru her lower soft mouth and it formed a hemotoma the size of a Red Sox baseball...pushing on her wind pipe. So she is better now and will finish chemo over the next 3 months. Too bad her "Mother" hasn't lost the 5 pounds Lucy has...maybe I should try running and playing, sniffing, and sliding down snow hills. Rob the son has just yesterday returned to Casper...the ankle is healing nicely...so it would seem that the TLC of MOMs, family, and friends is "some of the best medicine" now matter where one is. Cold, cold...and snowy all the way to Casper over the Jeffrey City-Muddy Gap route. Snow piled high and crusty against the snow fences. The usual blowing skiffs of snow across the road and ice on the highway glowing in the headlights. Saw two young bald eagles sitting on fence posts along the Independence Rock - Alcova way. They had their feathers and wings pulled in tight against their bodies and the cold. There is a good Liz McCabe photo of Mt. Moran, capped in snow,in the JH News and Guide this week so will get it wrapped up and sent to you. Also some photos of Mountain Sheep on the Cody side of the Absoraka. The Dubois side of the Absorakas were coated in snow so I am sure the Cody side is as well. So pleased to hear that you are doing well as can be. Too bad I can't share the "cush" of my "tush" and intervene in those pressure spots. Take care and I will keep my eyes and ears open on our drive to JH today. Shannon Lucy aka "Rob's Mom"

I hadn't been following this thread because I hadn't bet Bobby. I saw that it had 750 post and figured it must have been sidetracked to some other subject, particularly some personal attacks or other venom.
Obviously not and pleasantly so. With friends like you, of course he's doing well. He has a lot to get better for.
Best wishes to all for health, healing and love.
Peace
Karl

Hello Bobby,
It's been too long since I've written to you. It's been cold and clear in the valley the last few weeks. Santa Claus brought me a new 4 season tent for my ventures into the winds, tetons, bighorn, and beartooth adventures. The January edition of CLIMBING page # 87 you are mentioned along with my dear friend Todd Skinner. What a great eye you have for the outdoor experience to show the rest of the world. Hope this note finds you happy and ready to conquer the next summit to recovery.

FORGOT TO POST THE LATEST UPDATE FROM FAITH:
Dear All,
I sincerely wish all of you--and everyone everywhere--a 2008 that is
fulfilling in all ways. And I also wish everyone fun and joy as much as
possible. Thank you for supporting us through this past year, which has now
been put to rest as a fresh year begins. I know that for some of you it's
been a painful and difficult year in many ways. I hope that this coming year
will bring greater peace, ease and grace into everyone's lives. As for me, I
will carry with me the many blessings of friendship, support and true
community that you have given all of us.
Bobby is recovering from his surgery (pressure ulcer) and will be on bed
rest for another 3 weeks. Unfortunately, it's fairly uncomfortable, but
things will only improve over the next few weeks and he is on some powerful
pain meds (thank God for that). Thankfully, surgeries are now behind him and
once this recovery is complete, rehab will finally begin in full.
Thank you all for holding the space for Bobby's recovery, he is moving ever
forward and I look forward to relaying more and more positive news. Your
thoughts, words, prayers and hopes are still sooo appreciated and we send
them back exponentially to all of you, especially this week.
I'm also sending so much love and comfort to the Rohrbach family, now and
always.
With love and gratitude in 2008 and beyond,
Faith

Hi Model Family-
I moved from Cody 20 years ago- but am truly moved by all this love and support for Bobby. I check here once a week to see how he is doing.
I live in California now- and have raised my kids in the city. Seeing the passion in Bobby's work has motivated me. I bought sleeping bags for Christmas and we are all going camping.
Thanks Bobby for reminding me how great it is to get out there. I am sending you all the best thoughts for healing.

Bobby and Family,
We've never met, though we've shared some belayers over the years. I'm just shaking off the after effects of a marrow transplant aimed at ending a 2 yr wrestling match with the cancer beast. I feel like Bobby's on another peak of his own, tenuously making way toward the summit. Over the past few months I've watched from my own perches, inspired by sheer will, difficulty of the line, and the cowboy tenacity to still be hangin there after storms. Just wanted to send some thoughts across the chasm, you are all inspiring. The pride and fortitude displayed by the family and circle of friends attests to the paths in life each of you chose...tip o the hat to you and may you all find peace in that. May the sky see you on the sunny slopes of the southfork on a calm cold winters day soon Bobby!

Dear Cousins Bobby, Anne,and Faith,
Sending continued New Year's greetings from Kyoto coupled with the power of Fuji-san in all it's glory. I am sure you all could could jog up it but I'd prefer to sit in a hot spring and gaze at it from below. Wanting you all to know how much we pray for those encouraging signs of growth and improvement. Please keep us informed so as to best visualize and focus our powers of love and healing. Hugs all around and lots more. JJ ;--->
